I saw the movie today! It was a very awesome and touching movie!
During the torturing scene and especially when Mary ran to Jesus and remembered when Jesus was a boy it brought tears to my eyes. The agony he suffered from the monstrous brutality of man was truly terrible!

The ignorant people out there that are complaining about the gore and violence need to realize that is how it was! Those were brutal times and even in later years man was still brutal. Mel Gibson did his research with scholars and theologians about the latest info and facts and theories before doing the movie. He was trying to make it as accurate as possible. Even to the point of using the actual language of the time! Mel Gibson should be commended for this movie. In a world full of negativity and deception and greed, Mel has helped remind us why an aspect of God, born into mans world died for our sins!!

Yes the movie was brutal in certain scenes but that is the reality not the toned down version people are used to. Just like Stephen Spielberg showed us the true untoned down horrors of war with "Saving Private Ryan".
By showing such graphic detail the world is getting a wake up call it really needs! As for the anti jewish stuff? There was negative things showed with the jews and romans and you know what this stuff was mentioned in the bible. Mel Gibson and his co writer didn't make this up. This was more anti ignorant people. "Forgive them father for they know not what they do." The petty ignorance and greed of power and other negative things killed Jesus. He died for our sins. This wasn't about race.

Once again Mel Gibson did a great job on this movie and I recommend people to see it!

I just got home from watching this movie also. I went with Heavenly and Harry half an hour into the movie I was already crying, not teary eyed but crying. FreestyleGod, that seem that you just described tore my heart out the most :sosad that writing about it know makes me cry all over again. I will not be seeing it again because it was hard for me. You see a few years ago my faith was given a test and I failed it. This movie just reminded me of the things that were taught to me as a child and that I have lost site of along the way.

I truly recommend this movie to everyone.

wow all these stories are great, look how this movie has touch so many hearts its incredible who could of have ever said it wasnt going to happen cuz u go in the theater with an urge to see it and u come out with such a sadness.....now doesnt this movie just wanna make u love jesus more and get to know him and accept him as ur lord and savior i know i do so with that said and done i say thank u jesus for dying for me on the cross for the forgiveness of my sins...

I give it 2 thumbs up. I hope it has touched peoples heart when they saw the movie. And when it comes out on DVD I will be getting it

with ur 2 thumbs and mine also this movie is definately a must see cant wait also when it comes out on dvd i saw on access hollywood how the bloody scenes was done by cgi so cool how they did it
 
People are having heart attacks and dying while watching the movie! That's a lil' too much for me to consume!

People, after seeing the movie, are rushing to church for whatever reason....

I just wanna see the movie 'cus of all the hype surrounding it! Prop's to Mel Gibson for movie of the year!

Damn that movie was powerful!!! I too cried throughout the movie too. Glad you didn't take lil Smurf to see it....wayyyy too graphic
 
it has such an impact on us now, to see such cruelty

imagine those people back then, these executions would be a public fanfare
