what are some of the most played freestyle songs that radio stations used to play constanly??here in Chicago on B96, i think the most popular were
Jaya-If You Leave Me Now
all George Lamond songs
Cynthia-Change On Me
Cover Girls-Show Me
Dzrye-Forever Amor
Lassiez Faire-In Paradise
April-Youre the One For Me
Sweet Sensation-Sincerly Yours
Rochelle-Praying For An Angel
man, now B96 is all ghetto. 😡 man, those were the days:crap

Really the only freestyle played here in DC is "A Little Bit Of Ecstacy" by Jocelyn Enriquez. The song is played every night on the weekend dance mixes and is always blasted from one of the main hot spots out here. It sort of become a Saturday night anthem!

damn hardley anyone ever repies to my threads. i must really suck lol:sadsmile

I think the thread should be changed to.."songs that arent played on the air but damn well should be"that maybe a little more interesting.. i get so sick of hearing the same five ten songs that are supposed to be all encompassing of the freestyle genre. same goes for cds that are for sale🙄 lets see some examples.. dan hartmans "name of the game" george lamond "more then words can say" anything by the nasty boys...charlie baby..n more..this is all music i have pumpin in my headset at the gym..and by the way my gym has the most awful house and techno tracks playin all day long..i offered to make them some decent cds but they said no thanks we like this corny music..i have to blast my walkman to drown it out!!🙄

I do get sick of the same loop of songs played on KTU in NY. I have over 200 freestyle cd's and most of them are what I call "new freestyle" Miguel Reyes, Chase, Boca Freestyle, Tazmania songs The beats and lyrics rock, but they still only play, lil suzy, cynthia, Judy, George Lamond, and collage. NO OFFENSE, I love those artist, but Freestyle has a large culture of music from different Labels, and most dont get any airtime.

hey freestyle truth, I will be happy to explain my opinion:

In Canada and, to a limited extent, in Germany and Brazil amongst many other countries, electro, breakbeat, 2 step and planet rock are an integral part of the freestyle sound and movement. I know that this may not be perceived in the same way in some parts of the US and you will totally disagree with what I am saying here; you are entitled to your opinion.

The Underdog project is 100% freestyle and is canada's biggest dance music export to date with 6.5 million units sold worldwide; touting three freestyle mega hits "summer jam", "tonite" and "I can't handle it". It is a german co-production signed to Kontor Records, home of other international dance acts Darude and ATB amongst others. You can find DJ Encore(Al B. Rich Mix), Daniel Bedingfield, Sonique, Gigi on many freestyle compilations in Canada and Germany.

Here is a list of the top freestyle tracks that played up here for 2001. International dance acts Gigi Dagostino, Fragma, Astroline, Paul Van Dyke, Diana Fox and others are well represented. Based on your opinion, those would not be considered freestyle in your part of the world and that's cool. We like to see branded artists with major label pressings and retail store availability represent our community and its diversity be it the old school or latin sound that is still cherished in the US, or in the planet rock, breakbeat, 2 step and electro sounds that are emerging internationally and gaining mainstream exposure, even in the US where projects like Fiori, Precious, K5 and others are producing major club and limited radio play.

I also invite you to check out the newest canadian compilation freestyle heaven volume 4 from SPG Music Canada (www.spgmusic.com) or listen to the freestyle frenzy radio show on wwwz1035.com sundays at 5PM ET to sample the freestyle experience from our perspective.
