I got your letter last night
I think I stared at it for sometime not reading, just staring
I know sometime I must have closed my eyes tight
Because all I remember is darkness, looking at me you might have thought I was praying
I really don't know why I just stare
I should have just deleted it and move on with my life
But I couldn't, just one touch of that button... No I wouldn't dare
Instead I just kept looking at that one word... wife
How one word can cut you so deep inside
How that one word made me feel like Damn How could I have been such a fool
Made me wish that I had the powers to press rewind
Maybe if I never met you....
But Fact is I did at one time
I even loved you once still do I guess
But there is no sense reliving that time when you were once mine
I just need to get up and clean up the mess you left
With hands shaking and my Heart beating
Tears stinging my eyes
I'm sit here barely breathing
But damnit I refuse to cry
Hear the phone ring in the back of my mind
Still lost in my thought I hear myself say "Hello Babes"
His voice.... ohhh how that voice brings me back to current time
He notices I'm a lil down and he says "Are you ok"
I say "Yes I'm fine" while quietly wiping the tears
A smile slowly starts to form on my lips
As I hear him say "I miss you my dear"
And without hesitiation I push that delete button and say
"I miss you too Chris"
