Yesterday in London, Country Music Stars The Dixie Chicks was doing an interview for The BBC. The Chubby blond Dixie girl said to reporters ' It's a shame president Bush is from Texas. She supports the troops, it's sad they will put their lives on the line for the presidents stupidity."

That did not fly well with old school southern country music fans, who called up Country music stations and request that these stations stop playing all Dixie Chicks records!!

This anti war movement is picking up clouds of steam.

I know this post is old, but I bought it back.

I just watched the interview with the Dixie Chicks on Channel 7, and I really have a problem with people placing boycotts against them and threatening their well being just because Natalie spoke her opinion.

Let me quote the All-American, "The Boss!" Bruce Springsteen:

Posted at brucespringsteen.net, Springsteen's statement reads: "The Dixie Chicks have taken a big hit lately for exercising their basic right to express themselves, To me, they're terrific American artists expressing American values by using their American right to free speech. For them to be banished wholesale from radio stations, and even entire radio networks, for speaking out is un-American.

Friday is payday. Perhaps I'll go buy some Dixie Chicks Cds!

They continue to rebound by having their concert at The MCI Center sell out!!! By the way; The MCI Center is only 8 blocks from The White House.LOL.

Now they will show up on The Cover of Entertainment Weekly semi-nide, they did it as a way of proving a point that labels do not have to be clothing.:confused

yeah i am sure they made themselves out to be real sweethearts on tv...i am sorry u dont disrespect ur president in another country during a time of war

its thier right to speak and its the consumers right to BOYCOTT

i hope this boycott continues until the dixie chicks are faded from everyones mind

I don't get it. Shyt, she had an opinion and was expressing it. It ain't like Bush is God. America got much more to worry about. That whole thing was madd stupid.

It's simple freedom of speech. Seems like this Dixie Chick's opinion must mean a lot or something-the way people agonized over it.

Ya got that right!

I wonder how many peeps who are boycotting and bashing on the Dixie Chicks have complained and mocked other Presidents anyway?

I know I have bashed on our government at times, why should the Dixie Chicks receive such harsh treatment?

I know peeps like Charlton Heston was critizing Clinton during the Monica Lewisnsky thing. Nobody was telling ABC to stop airing The Ten Commandments. :mad

well the reason they are being "bashed" is because they went over to another country and bashed the president during a time of war...thats a no no...in the time of the second world war that would be considered treason

I know this is an old and pretty much over thread.. but I was thinking about this today and thought to post MY opinion here too.

Toni, I totally agree with you.

I understand this whole free speech, but come on... we are at war here no matter what we feel, the bottom line is, we have to support our COMMANDER and CHIEF period.

He isn't god, but he's pretty damn close considering he has so much control over our lives.

There are a few "stars" out there that bashed the fact that we were at WAR, but let's face the facts... when 9/11 came,... a majority of people wanted to just destroy Bin Laden and his world all around him because we were angry... Bush had to make a decision that would benefit us in the long run (like killing Saddam now before he does something worse compared to 9/11)

Did anyone catch the interview with them talking about that comment she made.

OH... That cover with the Dixie Chics on it was air brushed!!!

I guess they believe in falsifying the FACTS too. (the blonde who commented on the president is a little heavy since she had a baby so they air brushed her thinner).

its good someone shares the same patriotic views for our beautiful country

It's amazing how people take Freedom of Speech too far?

Just because we CAN say what we feel... does that mean we should?

I'm with you Toni.
