Yes, I was very sad to see the Freestyle Nation BB go -- I have been 'out here' on the Net for what seems like an ETERNITY now -- sometime back in LATE 1995 -- and I also remember doing my first search for "Freestyle Music", damn I don't even remember what search engines were available back then, I probably just typed something in on Netscape. That was where I found the old 'Rare Groove Bulletin Board' with all the people that Rummy G mentioned. It was definitely an INTERESTING time !!! And there were even a few OTHER people that I remember, just not all their names ! It was a great little community we all had, and it only grew from there. It also hasn't been the FIRST time that the Nation BB has disappeared -- actually, I think this was the third rendition of it over the years -- and I remember EVERY version and also all the problems that caused it to be taken down -- just like now. I was sad that I hadn't been able to post as much lately, but I ALWAYS checked the board whenever I was online.

I decided to do my own 'tribute' to freestyle when I put my page on the web WAAAAAY back in 1996 -- and 'DJ Dez's Freestyle Page' is STILL up today -- I have to thank all the 'Originals' for inspiring me to put it up. Unfortunately, I'm kinda busy lately, and I haven't been able to keep it as current as I used to, 'back in the day', but hey, at least it's still around !

Rhoq and RummyG pretty much summed up the last 5 years -- Rhoq, you DO have an INCREDIBLE memory -- I thought I had a good one, but, you have me beat !! How you remembered all that stuff in such DETAIL is amazing. It was a rather interesting sequence of events that have led up to where we ALL are now -- and I'm sure that clubfreestyle.com will help to continue the growth and preservation of the music that we all love. A big thanks to JackG and Johnny Budz for allowing that ...

It is true, I have met and become friends with MANY people in these last 5-6 years. Unfortunately, work and life has hindered me from keeping as much contact with people as I would like, but I am grateful to have met EVERYONE -- no matter what the outcome was.

Well, if Adam is true in really 'terminating' the old Nation BB, then, so be it ... but I'll never forget those 'happy days' of sharing my one TRUE love -- freestyle music -- with everyone who shared it along with me ... TOO many people to mention, but a quick thanks to my 'wondertwin' LEE -- nice touch on the bb, before it died -- I never got to post 🙁 ... MARIA -- my favorite silly black ho stepchild, Kat, Milly, Pete, Steve 'Mr Miami', Jason M, Angel, Juan, Armando, Haze, Alize, Dan, Aimee, Al, Rhoq, Desiree, Becky, Fernando, Kathy, Gary, Willie V, Marlon, Alex, Jorg, Reggie, Isi, Tali, Mike, Louie, Johnny Budz .. and the list goes ON AND ON -- I know I forgot some people, but it's all I can remember right now - please forgive me !!

One final shout out to the ORIGINALS (wherever they all may be) -- you ALL know who you are -- Adam, Primax, Roberto, Greg K, Leti (the ORIGINAL Freestyle Diva), Malika, RummyG, Fierce, Scott T (uncle - LOL!), X-Rated, Muevelo, J'Free' Cruz, Ramini, Hiram, Franco Carlos, Eric (C-Ire) ... I'm SURE I've forgetten SOME by accident - for that, I apologize!! I can Honestly say -- "We Are The Ones" ...

Can I make that my JOD ??? "We Are The Ones" by Legends of Style ...

Wow -- I started that WAY back on the FIRST BB -- ahhhh, the memories will NEVER fade ...

It is very nice to see you post a reply. I know that at one time (when I first met you) you devoted all of your free time to hanging out at The Freestyle Nation - but then again, I think we all did, lol...

Still as one of the guys who really started it all - it is great to see your take on the situation.

As far as my memory goes - I was a bit surprised with all that I had stored away somewhere in brain! Rummy did help me though...We were on the phone with one another while we were writing our parts of the post so that way if one of us was having trouble with our memories - the other could help out...

It is sad to see the Nation leave this way, but I really do think that it is for the best. Club Freestyle has become everything that the Nation used to be and a lot more!

no us "new heads" knew how to act...to bad the so called old timers didnt know how to accept anyone new...thats where the problem arrised!!!! but once again drama was an excuse for the demise of the bb!!! anyway...time to focus on the clubfreestyle community and not the freestyle nation clique 🙄

calm down mama, i didn't mention any names, let's just leave it at that, all those who started the drama know who they are, it's gone no need to speak of it anymore, I was just making a comment on how nice it was to see a lil' tribute about it, no more mention of it from me....


I like this site tho', lots of info plus more on the music we love, that's whats important for me to get something useful out of any particular website.

FYI and olddies: Newbies were never accepted on the BB because you had nothing interesting or newsworthy to contribute. The originals had contacts with insiders from each label and could get interesting information. The only thing on the BB was "Who knows the song that goes like this ..............." BORING.

first of all what inside contacts did the oldies have??? whenever someone would post about freestyle there would be no replys or interest!!! especially from the oldies!!! the only person that was always about the freestyle was dj paradise...its a shame we were never accepted...when we were jokin around we were told to take it somewhere else...but when the oldies would make fun of eachother or call eachother names that was ok...please its a shame what went on in there...all the post from the oldies were like let us go back to the time where all we did was sit in the chat room and had NO LIFE!!!!!
