I was 10 years old and wearing hard Filas and Freestyle was big on WPGC95.5 the last time these things were around. Yes The Cicadas!!!!!!! They are starting to come out!!! I just stepped over many of. They are so hideious with their small red eyes!!!!!
 
Cicadas are known as "17 year locusts" they come out every year not every 17.They spend 17 years in the growing in the ground.The only big deal as to why you hear about them during certain years is due to the fact that at one particular point in time there was a large population explosion of them.The descendants from that particular year come out in great numbers every 17 years.
They do not bite,have no mouth and do not eat.
 
o yuck i remember back in 92 i had them come in from my bed room window. they were gross. my mom used to hang the wash on the line outside my window. i was so grossed out i vacuumed everything and sprayed bug spray.
 
I would be a mess :silly if I saw all those locusts, just thinking about them is making me itch!!! I do not like bugs... even when I see a bunch of ants on a piece of candy, I freak out! :buggin
 
I remember our 6th grade school picnic in Wheaton Md back in 87 when they was around. They got into all our food. They flew everywhere. They was so damn annoying!!

I hear ya Heartbrake......Nasty bugs!

I especially hate "stinging" ones like bees, hornets, wasps......HATE!!!
 
LOL... ewww yeah chuck... I try to act cool when they are flying near me, when what I really want to do is run like a crazy woman flinging my arms and screaming for it to get away from me... lol...uh... not a pretty sight... lmao...
