Performing / Recording Artist
Many have been asking, rumoring and gossiping what I have deemed the BIG question. If Victor Vega sings Salsa and not Freestyle, Why does he post on the Freestyle sites?
Many have even dared to say that I have been using Cheree to advance my career. But I will clear the air once and for all.
First of all I grew up listening to Freestyle and as Cheree’s manager, it was I who brought her back as Cheree and it is I who has been getting her shows and pushing her to record new music. As her manager I am also a supporter of the genre “Freestyle”.
Second, none of the people or producers that I know and worked with on my album are or ever were in any way involved with Freestyle. It is true that Artie produced a few songs on my album, but I was working with Artie before I even met Cheree. I met Artie through my ex manager Felicia and my boy Savier.
In any way has Cheree contributed to my singing career, in other words she has not asked anyone to help me or work with me etc. etc. Nor have I been using her name like some have said in any way either. She has given me moral support and taught me to believe in myself.
I also want to mention that even though I admire many well known artists out there, I am not in any way trying to imitate, sound, look like or be like any of them. I am not following anybody’s footsteps, Like George Lamond once told me, make my own footsteps and that is what I’m doing.
Like I said before nobody on these boards or in the Freestyle community knows anything about our artistic careers or personal lives. I know that it’s not really anybodies business but yes we do get paid for shows and yes we do free shows. We do lots of free shows for many charities.
Untrue rumors, drama, competition and gossip are hurting the Freestyle community. I do what I do for the love of music, and that is it. I do have to wait my turn to perform just like everybody else. I am where I am today by the grace of God and my hard work. I ALONE have single handed struggled to reach my goals and dreams. I don’t beg anyone to put me on stage, I get called. So there you have it, the truth. So believe what you want, I have nothing to hide, and the truth shall set you FREE.
