Its true what my parents used to always tell me, "fashion, music & trends always do a 360".

Its funny how its usually every 2 decades. In the early 90's, it was all about the 70's, bell bottom pants, suits, platforms, & dee-groovy disco-house sounds in da clubs with people like DEEE-LITE, CECE PENISTON, & ZHANE' holding royal court.

If u wore bell bottoms anytime during the 80's after like 1981, u were made fun of. lol.🙂

Now, 20rys later from the 80's, the millenium has arrived, & although its taken a slower pace, I beleive we have FINALLY got to that state where just about "anything goes" in music & fashion, - just like da 80's.
I noticed it started happening in 2001 (I wrote about it @ www.Freestylemusic.com).

Today, u can go out wearing those 80's low-cut ruffle skirts that Paris Hilton rocks, with hot-pink pumps & black-lace sox, & a glove only on one hand, & it looks kool.
BUT, if u wore this, lets say in 1997 or so, you would be mocked! lol.

Back then we had "FAME", "FLASHDANCE", "PURPLE RAIN", & "BEAT STREET", while today we have
"Center Stage", "Honey", "Glitter", & "You Got Served".
Plus remakes, or reruns of the 80's movies & tv shows.

Shows were hott like:
"SOLID GOLD", "AMERICAN BANDSTAND", "STAR SEARCH", & "SOUL TRAIN", & today we have TRL, American Idol, & yup, Star Search & Soul Train.
(Star Search resurfaces).🙂

Many 80's artists are back.
& Their songs are either remade or sampled majorly by todays artists.
The oldskool hip-hop/dance-funk, & Electro-Breakdance/Freestyle, & new wave-punk sounds are ganering lots of attention.
Either people searching "Rabidly" for the original artists music of the past, or thirsting for new songs & sounds by todays artists who use this music.

The fashion trends are back.
Yes these styles were fun & funky, & some so horrible we would love to forget, - lol, - but the truth is, they are here.
Even the make-up, & dance moves.

Since the millenium to present day, there is a high demand for re-issues of toys, cartoons, movies, products, & logos, from the 80's.
Many have made themselves present again, while others are being viciously fought for at eBay.

VH-1, Ryan Seacrest, & other places have been constantly showing support for the decade, showcasing the best & worst of it, as well as using the songs, even for commercials.

All in all, anything goes these days, & the 80's are definately getting their 1st turn at their 360 flashback,- which (call me corny), but it is something I have personally been waiting for almost throughout the entire 90's), & now it is finally here.
In my eyes, it is still 1983/84 for 2004, so maybe by 2005-07 it will be real freestyle time for the millenium. Lets hope we make it there.

Things seem so different & smoother these days, yet so familiar, its wierd.
I just hope this decade brings the best to all of us, & lets us reminsce the best of our beloved 80's decade, in new eyes that we can share with everyone, especially those who werent really there (like your kids, etc).
For those who were there, they were the times of our lives!

If u read this, thanks. -lol.
Just be ready to dust off & wear ur B-boy windbraker outfit & Pumas, & girls get ur hot pumps & glitter hairspray, cuz we already here!

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan, Thats why ive been sayin be patient-Freestyle is slowly coming back. Its gonna come back with a Fury!! Im just scared its gonna fall in the wrong hands and become pop, like the rest of the shit that came back already. you know, fake ass buble gum music.

In the last yr-Ive seen a star burst commercial playin Planet Rock, A napster commercial with b-boyz breakin to a freestyle 808 loop, A winter fresh commercial on MTV with a guy popin to a freestyle beat, Dexters Labrotory had b-botz listnin to 808. and theres more I cant recall.

LOVE the 80's-artist like GWEN STEFANI,PINK,LIL'KIM, say how much they loved CYNDI LAUPER-how great her voice and fashon is.Even FREESTYLE arists like LIL'SUZY,ROSALINDA,BYLLI CRAYONE,and JOSSETTE show their respects for CYNDI LAUPER,also CARSON DALY and other entertainers.ALSO, GWEN STEFNI and PINK's fashion,CYNDI must of rubbed some of that on them-with her BLACK or RAINBOW JELLY and SILVER BRACELETS,her fishnet clothes, vintage styles, and glitter and makeup,punk/new wave style-CYNDI was and is a fashion icon of the 1980's.Also,MADONNA with THALIA and BRTNEY SPEARS-showing 80'sfashion from one of their icons.JENNIFER LOPEZ,N"SYNC and many others using FREESTYLE beats in their music-the 80's will never die, thank god.

Thanx guys, & nice to see u too clubfossil.

Yeah, kool series.
They have 2 different series (each with 10-episodes) of "I Love The 80's".

If u guys get a chance, checkout the Powerpuff Girls episode:
"Uh-Oh ...Dynamo" .
At the end, they have a robot Powerpuff start breakdancing & locking to a electro-freestyle beat!
Its so cute!
🙂

LOL Kenny..dont they still make them? I know they probably dont look the same as they did in the 80s, but I know the company is still around.

Randi (FreestyleGal)

i loved the 80's from jellies on my feet to the jelly bracelets. i liked my hair spiked and the leg warmers.

that was a cool era!!

I dont know.....i think they went into suits now but I know after the fad was over, they started making regular type jeans with the name on the zipper. they didnt take off like the previous model.

High-hair, already seeing it.
and new music artists & celebs have been wearing it.
& (again) Paris & Nicole & Pink, have been wearing those poofed-up/pulled-back bangs that we saw in da early 80's. Even with color streaks!
(Think the movie: "200 Cigarettes")

KENNY, remember, that when fashion & music do a 360, its not always "complete".
In the 90's we diddnt necissarily COPMLETELY turn into the 70's! -lol. That would be crazy. But alot of the fashion, & music styles were revived once more, making them "In Style" again.
& Now, its the 80's turn - YAY! 🙂

Just remember that anything goes now like in da 80's.
In those days we created our own fashions that define the decade, urban-break-rap, & new wave punk-rock, yet were inspired by mixing up the 60's poodle skirts, top hats, & tye-dye, & also the mideival times with a twist (like Prince, Sheila E, & Heart, etc).

So this decade will bring its own new trends for sure, but will be heavily inspired & influenced by the 80's. Get it? - lol.

Cootchie cootchie cootchie......

God, I remember Charo!

As for the bracelets, no, I don't intertwine them. I wear them seperately on one wrist, like Madonna did!

depends on my mood, all black, or black and white.

lol
