I have been surfing the site for quite some time I have never seen such nonsense going on. This site is to express opinions on what we like and dislike in this freestyle genre. "Latinaonfire" she is only expressing her opinion. I have no problems with that. I like some of Safire's music, but I don't really think this calls for a retirement when she is going try to do other music. She is doing what she loves - which is not freestyle anymore. You can't blame her. Guys, lets not take these threads so personal. This is not the first time I see some harsh words used, no need. We are members because we have a common interest in the Freestyle music. These artist have been around forever, and need and move on. I could remember as a kid my mother playing Safire's song and going to see her perform.

Nyasia and others are feeding into this. Remember the good thing about this country being good or bad we have the freedom of speech. This is why I will not comment on her (latinaonfire) post. She has right to say what she wants. We don't live in a communist country, so lets not act like we do. So relax, take it easy, latinaonfire I don't really think she meant any harm.

Safire you have a great voice I dont'see this as a retirement, but your just moving on to other things.

secondly the so called"80's" hasn't even been confirmed yet, as far as Safire is concerned. People hear things and right away they post it on the board. "Retirement from freestyle" what is so hard to understand? SHE IS "RETIRING" FROM "FREESTYLE" HELLOOOOOOO!

One, two, who cares how many post at least their is some interest. I have been surfing these freestyle site for over a year. If it wasn't for sites like this freestyle fans wouldn't even know what the freestyle singers were doing. Radio is sure not playing it, only on mixes. Only some club are doing shows. I go to Club Rios, and DNA, to name a few - so their is not even that many clubs who caters to this type of music.

Jason mentioned he is confused so am I, if Safire is going to be part of the ladies of the 80's then that is not retiring. I see on the calendar several show she has coming up this month. Are these cancelled? My mom has not seen Safire perform since 1983, now that is a long time. So if she is in fact retiring I will tell my mom to go to see one of these shows, before she retires. My gosh guys, lighten up life is way to short for nonsense.

Latinaonfire has been a member since April 2002, I don't consider that a new member. I think that qualifies her to post.

I was not personally attacking Safire or you for that matter. This site has no rules as far as when you could post. Who sitting at home taking these post way to seriously. I don't think its fair, I did not say anything negative. But you cant say the same. From all the post you seem to be the only one cursing. Lighten up girl is not for all that.....

This is only opinions, some will agree and some won't, at the end I am the consumer, that buys freestyle music (when i could find it) and goes to shows. I really don't see Safire taken this so seriouly. By the way she has not posted on this site that much either....

Safire's retitirement worries me about as much as Stevie B's did a few years ago. I think that lasted all of 3 days. I know Safire will alaways be there for her fans; whether in song, in performance, or simply in our memories. There's no crying in baseball. And there's no retirement from Freestyle. Freestyle for life, holmes!

oh I consider myself better thank you very much. I never said you were attacking me or safire for that matter sweetie, i said she was attacking Safire.

as far as my cursing.. if you 've been searching this website for over a year you will see that this is the first time I curse at anyone, but a personal friend of mine was attacked and I responded, plain and simple..ya se acabo.

as for Safires shows, she had commited herself to doing shows until Dec,31st. and being that she is not a QUITTER, she will keep those dates. and retire from freestyle.

This thread was not meant to be a bullshit thread, only her thanking her fans.

first of all, all this nonsense regarding latina on fire is a waste of time. ignore her!

second, SAFIRE has annouced her retirement, her last day as a freestyle artist is DECEMBER 31, 2002. the "ladies of the 80's" is part of her farewell tour, (not sure when this will begin or how long)

she has several performances throughout the rest of the year that she has committed to and plans on fulfilling them.

so for those who wish to see her perform her freestyle hits, here's your last chance.

That's what we need to think about is all about having fun. I will continue to support the artist that are staying in the freestyle market, because this is the music I like. So Nyasia maybe we will meet up sometime at DNA or Rios and have a drink and just laugh this whole think off. I love to dance and party. 🙂
