The day after that London was awarded the Olympics, London is attacked by terrorists.

Explosions ripped through 3 subway stations, and 3 double decker busses.

The number of dead is not known yet.

It's a bad situation. I heard it the miniute I work up on NBC. This morning the trains here was tight with Metro Police carrying AK-47's.

Yeah, we'll see what Mr. Blair's stance on terrorism will be now. Wasn't he taking steps backwards and questioning WTF the US was still doing in the Middle East?

I hear is a mess up in London... ****ing terrorists are probably singing "London bridge is falling down; falling down" I hate terrorists.

According to 1010 Wins radio, there were anywhere from 4 to 6 explosions. Only 1 bus was involved, the remaining explosions were all in the subway systems.

My mother was calling me at 6:30 this morning tellin me to be careful on the trains in to work this morning... but if you ask me.. whoever won the Olympic bid for the next games was gonna get it... the terrorists know it's going to bring outrageous amounts of money to London which is something they don't want... ( reason for 9/11 -to bring the Financial world to it's knees)...

I agree with you Heartbrake. How coincidental that London won the bid yesterday and was then attacked. Maybe it's better that NY didnt get it! It makes me sick hearing about this again.

Freestygal, unfortunately, I don't see this being the last time it DOES happen again...
we are living in uncertain times nowadays... we have an enemy that will not stop until they have inflicted devastation upon us..
MUCH RESPECT TO THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO ARE IN THE ARMED SERVICES, POLICE AND FIREMEN.. who no doubt have their hands full making sure we the American People are reasonably safe and continue to maintain our Freedom! God bless those who were killed in London, may they rest in peace and those hurt may they heal quickly!

now my folks dont want me to go into the city tomorrow i have free passes for the china club that i want to use but they are worried something is going to happen people i am going any way we cant be afraid that is what they want.

I don't think that London winning the Olympics was a reason for them to be bombed. I think it was coincidence.

Not sure it would be possible to get suicide bombers into position with the equipment necessary on such short notice.

There was a G-8 summit being held in Scotland where world leaders were meeting. It's possible it was timed with that, knowing that attention would be focused on that, and away from London.

they had to have had this planed 4 a long time now...
to pull it off..
but i don't think they should cancel the Olympic's cuz thats would mean they are winning..

not everyong is taking this terrorist stuff serious.. they are not perparing enough.. i think if New York was picked another attack would not have happen. cuz USA is alway taking new measure to keep us safe...

the whole world has to Prepare it's self.. cuz they are not going to stop..

You guys are right..they probably did have this very well planned. And nothing seems to stop them. A group that noone heard of before is claiming responsbility but they cant confirm it yet.

I think wether or not London won the bid to host the Olypmics this still would have happened...London has always been a terroist target it's just horrible when it occurs

CAIRO, Egypt - A group calling itself “The Secret Organization of al-Qaida in Europe” posted a claim of responsibility for Thursday’s blasts in London, saying they were in retaliation for Britain’s involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The authenticity of the message could not be immediately confirmed.

The statement, which also threatened attacks in Italy and Denmark, was published on a Web site popular with Islamic militants, according to Elaph, a secular Arabic-language news Web site, and Der Spiegel magazine in Berlin, which published the text on their Web sites.

“Rejoice, Islamic nation. Rejoice, Arab world. The time has come for vengeance against the Zionist crusader government of Britain in response to the massacres Britain committed in Iraq and Afghanistan,” said the statement, translated by The Associated Press in Cairo. The AP was unable to access the Web site where it was posted, which was closed quickly after the reports.

But MSNBC TV translator Jacob Keryakes, who said that a copy of the message was later posted on a secular Web site, noted that the claim of responsibility contained an error in one of the Quranic verses it cited. That suggests that the claim may be phony, he said.

"This is not something al-Qaida would do," he said.

The group al-Qaida in Europe claimed responsibility for the last major terror attack in Europe: a string of bombs that hit commuter trains in Madrid, Spain in March 2004, killing 191 people. Two days after that attack, a video was found in a trash can outside a Madrid mosque with a statement purported to be from the group’s spokesman, called by the nickname “Abu Dujan al Afghani.”

In the new statement, the group said “the heroic mujahedeen carried out a blessed attack in London, and now Britain is burning with fear and terror, from north to south, east to west.”

“We warned the British government and the British people repeatedly. We have carried out our promise and carried out a military attack in Britain after great efforts by the heroic mujahedeen over a long period to ensure its success.”

“We continue to warn the governments of Denmark and Italy and all crusader governments that they will receive the same punishment if they do not withdraw their troops from Iraq and Afghanistan,” the statement went on.

It was signed “The Secret Organization of al-Qaida in Europe.”

Let's pray no "copy cat" incidents occur anywhere else...

33 confirmed dead...hundreds more injured the death toll expected to rise 🙁

the entire thing makes me feel sick - esp that fake al-quaida claim they definitely are cowards, what kind of a terror group would so quickly take credit for someone else's dirty work? it's a CHEAP way to generate power and intimidate the rest of the world. my thoughts go to those affected by this attack.
