I dont know if this issue has been posted up yet cuz i havent been on lately but Tamara has a new song out on Euro Mix Nine
its a cover of Phil Collins 'Take a look at me now' its a pretty good song with that euro feel...
there are remixes of dancing with an angel, capture on this cd also but the originals are way better
 
hm, well i heard that CD is pretty good... I might get it

good for Tamara, great to see her back, although I wish she didn't have to do covers...
 
well covers are very popular rite now...the cd is alrite but not worth the money...prima donnas newest track is also available on this cd
 
covers is what brought dance industry down.. every second artist is doing covers! they are good to listen to, but whatever... where are the originals? Dance is not exactly the category that's known for it's good lyrics, it's not hard to write a song
 
i actually like the covers of these old rock songs...i actually am very into rock and hearing it all done up in dance euro and trance is amazing
 
u don't get what i said... they sound good, no doubt... but they're covers! artist gets recognition for the originals not covers, regadless of how GOOD they are...
 
I agree with chica, but don't get me wrong. I really like the cover songs, but I think that it's way better to write your own lyrics.
 
ummmmmm hip hop artists are the ones that do the most covers and are recognized for there covers and not necessarily they're original work...think notorious big he's most famous for his cover mo money mo problems...this mase his most famous song a cover...eminem has a cover out...camron has done a cover...foxy brown...jay-z...puffy...ja rule...and countless others hmmm so y do dance artists get knocked down when they do a cover when hip hop is one of the most if not the most popular type of music these days
 
cos dance covers suck.. most of them do in my opinion... hip hoppers usually do covers of old school hip hop songs... dance does covers of everything, and they don't realize how shit it sounds...

i mean most dance singers are not talented.. they don't even need to have good vocals, so why the heck do they bother with covers? come up with something original... unlike hip hop which is ALL lyrics, dance is not! it doesn't take a genious to come up with few verses that rhyme... but yet they go off and do the covers... how do they expect success?????? dance is not exactly about lyrics, it's about the beats and base... do NOT do covers!!!

and another thing... if one dance artist does a cover, it gets it's recognition like DJ SAmmy's HEAVEN did... it was so good that it got over played.. but then everyone went mad or something and every damn artist went for a cover... it's like when u do it first, u get recognition, but when everyone massively does covers.... it gets stupid.

i'm so against covers.... i guess y'all got my point.

Takes more talent to make a GOOD Original then it does to do a cover.
And the vocal issue, u hit it on the nose. COmputers can make anyone sound decent, and since dance is mainly synths and what not, vocal work on some of these tracks aren't the highlight.

It's gonna change, no worries. Let the kids have fun now, but when the cycle goes back to vocals, all the kiddies will be scrambling cause they'll have no clue what to do.

BTW..As for Tamara, she's not my favorite artist, but I give her credit.
 
i just heard tamara's yesterday, great cover! but u really gotta know how to do it rite. Some good covers are like time after time, dj sammy - boys of summer, u gotta do it properly. a cover i dont like is heaven (especially the candlelight remix 😱) i think it's happening too much lately, but i hope that remix style goes out of style. i remember in 2001 when a lot of the dance remixing was turning all the euro songs into freestyle, that did get annoying after a while. i guess now it's the cover that's in style so lets just wait and see what comes in next.
 
the version tran man heard on the frenzee is different from the version on euromix 9. the new US mix-show version has a wicked frestyle kick and will be featured on Freestyle Heaven 5 coming in late may. stay tuned to Z and the frenzee for official release date. some interesting new material has come across my desk recently and will be featured on the show. look out for hot track from glide, anthony norris, brad macchado and vivian lucas if you haven't heard them already.
 
Which cd is the tamara cover going to be on? I am personally sick of the "heaven" song. I love euro and freestyle so when the two come together sometimes it can be a beautiful thing. Covers are nice if they are done well, with quality vocals. I have yet to listen to Tamara's, but sometimes covers are amazing. I think Mariah's version of against all odds is right up there with phil collins version. Thats just my opinion bc it gives me chills. Man i love me a good song
