They used to give this series on Nickelodeon called "Taina". And Lisa Lisa was one of the main characters on the show. She played Taina's mother. I got hooked on it one day when my daughter was watching it and was curious to see what it was about. When I saw Lisa Lisa, I told my daughter who she was after the shock of seeing her acting. Well lately there hasn't been anymore "Taina's" and I was wondering if anybody knows anything about it since my daughter brought it up to my attention. Lisa Lisa was very good with her acting! Anybody familiar with the show? 🙂

Hey that is cool. 😀 Taina is a beautiful name by the way. 🙂

Yeah it was a pretty cool show. My daughter really enjoyed it. And my daughter just like your nieces couldn't believe that my husband knows her. 🙂

I remember that man that was on "Que Pasa USA"........I used to look at that show! :blah It was pretty good and so was Taina. Too bad that they do this to the hispanic shows all the time.

no I don't think so...she played a mother but a BAD Mother that was stealing/Abusing her son...I wish she would've got a permanent spot on the show..

Yeah that would've been cool to see her on a major channel permanently. What's good about her exposure on that show is that maybe they'll call her back. And who knows, maybe one day, she will land a permanent role. 🙂

Hopefully someone gets smart at nick and releases "Taina" on DVD,we need more positive shows with latinos!

That's a great idea Frankie! You're right about the positivity! 😉
I would buy them for my daughter. 🙂

From what I read on the Nickelodeon site they cancelled the show because it appealed to more girls than boys.. (I know, stupid reason!) UPN was looking into picking the show up but for whatever reason they didn't. It is a very positiive show about a Hispanic family and I personally can't understand why no one has picked it up. We need more shows like that on TV and I really think peeps would tune in to watch.

Just the way I've always thought, when it comes to hispanic sitcoms or movies, they never last long, their underrated, and quickly removed! The hispanic shows/movies are never supported.

About the only sitcom that I see surviving so far is "George Lopez". I hope it remains that way.
