Who does the PROMOTIONs?? i certainly didnt see any promos of her album. plus, stores i regulary buy my singles, cd's, and vinyls dont have her album. dam, i feel bad for synthia.
all the hard work and how will she feel when she reads these
posts?That her sweat and guts put into this album, is only available in a minimal quality spots to buy it....i like her album. and I only hope she gets the chance to sell her album to larger record shops. (tower records, hmv, sam goody, wiz, etc...)peaceoutty.....

ps- dont get me wrong, ilike new skool freestyle and also the ol' skool as well, just that alot of material is done and not released properly.(but what do i know)paz.
 
Where is this album??????

I haven't gotten this album yet for two reasons:

1) I rarely buy anything on line. By the time you get the price and shipping and handling it works out to be cheaper at the stores. I haven't been able to find this album anywhere. I've been to Sam Goody, Record Town, Coconuts, and other places and just can't find it.

2) While everyone else gets cd's, I prefer tapes. I've seen Synthia on Amazon and CDNow, and the only selection available is CD. Does anyone make tape anymore? I got Rockell's new album just this past Friday because I spotted a tape of it (while searching for Synthia's tape). Is this release only on CD?

I truly wish I could find the tape somewhere, I heard/saw Synthia at Backdrafts and enjoyed her show and music.

Hey Willie thank god for those .com’s. Believe it or not, even though I offered the CD through the message sites, most of my sales were thru amazon. . Napster may not hurt commercially released records in which there is an abundance of airplay and distribution, but napster is hurting the freestyle industry. I remember just a few months back I couldn’t find any of my songs there. You look now, 1 out 10 you will find songs on just about any freestyle artist. Even Randy admits that he has not purchased a CD sense he started downloading songs from napster. Labels rely on the Internet to spread the news about new releases. The problem unfortunately is that all it takes is on person to convert the song to mp3 and spread it on napster. This site has over 600 members, I bet about 80% downloads or obtain songs from napster, DJ’s or other sources. Which leaves the possibility of labels with no radio play -- diminish revenues, maximized expenses and zero profits. Hey chuckD what’s wrong with buying the CD and dubbing it on tape? At least you’re showing your support! Peace

Yo Chuck. I agree with you about the shipping and handling charges because CDNow charges a ridiculous amount for that. CDNow also charges me NY sales tax cause I live in NY and they have a distribution center in NY. But now I shop at TowerRecords.com cause they have a cap of $4.95 on shipping and handling no matter how many CDs or cassettes you buy and they DON'T charge me sales tax. Plus their prices are also much cheaper than all the other online stores and they are much cheaper than Tower Records retail stores. I also get a coupon code from www.coupon-codes.net for TowerRecords.com because sometimes they have one there.

I still remember that great compliment on the nation board about me being your 2nd fav artist next to George Lamond! I would of never thought that both of our names would be use in the same sentence! Hey Sammy C, i love your music, yesterday i made a cd with 8 songs by you and 8 songs by Joee, i think this is one of the best freesyle cds i have among the 9 cds i've bought and 10 that i have made myself in the computer.

Yo Willie, I just have to say that I sold a total of 5 at my record store here in San Antonio, Tx. I ordered 5 & sold 5. But I no longer have the record store, I am actually going to a sit down tomorrow to see about a certain location. I owned a record store here in San Antonio for 3 years. My main sales were nothing but freestyle. I was classified as a Freestyle Record shop. I moved literally hundreds of freestyle records in those 3 years. I moved over 10 Synthia Figueroa-You Were Meant, 25 Synthia Figueroa- Touch Me, 25 Rene-Trying Not To Cry, 30 Dove-Alone In Love, 50 Tara/Vizion, 25 Innervoice-Days Gone By, 25 Freddy Lopez/Saint, 20 Legacy-Girls Do It For Fun, 25 Legacy-Time Is Right, 20 Joel-Prisoner Of Love, 25 D'zyre-Forever Amor all on vinyl.....sold out. Right now I still have like 80 Leticia-Why Do You Treat Me Badly 12". For the most part I've been selling on EBAY these past 2 months, since I closed my store. I still had like 3 Sammy C cd's which I auctioned on EBAY. So right now I really have no product. When I re-open hopefully next month I will need product. I push freestyle in my store. I also sold House, Progressive & Hip Hop, but for some reason fresstyle is my biggest seller. As for that punk Mack, you are a sellout buying from Record Connection......lol j/k. I know you live closer to them than to me. Besides I buy from them too occasionally.........LOL. Peace Out
 
I WENT TO HMV IN MANHATTAN 86TH STREET AND SW SYNTHIA'S ALBUM THERE. SO I WAS VERY HAPPY. NOW IF ONLY TOWER, SAM GODDYS AND VIRGIN CAN ORDER IT.
 
about freestyle not selling

I just wanted to take note that..... Freestyle just isn't selling anymore even though i wish it was... Music land use to sell freestyle cds but well as far as I know sam goody over took every musicland here in san antonio... Sam goody rarely stocks up on freestyle and every day passing by its harder getting a hold of a freestyle cd no matter who the artist is..... However I do know plenty of people over here that are still interested in freestyle but just gave up on buying freestyle simply because they don't know who sang that song.... nor do they even know any of the freestyle artists names...... Radio stations here stopped promopting freestyle. I think freestyles dying out here in texas i've also noted that Djs aren't mixing with freestyle as much anymore and are moving towards house which i hate house. So i'm just sad to see that freestyle is dying and of course i do use napster and download mp3s but once i do get a hold of an freestyle mp3 that i didn't know the name of the artist before i quickly rush off to record connection and have the cd or tape pre-ordered.... freestyle has to be better promoted or it just wont sell anymore you have to find a way to make the artists more well known its not all due to napster alone its simply due to the fact that freestyles not being promoted proplery its not as well known as it should be
 
i went to Coconuts and they didnt have it in stick, so i had them place the order for me and it took a week for them to get it for me.

I forgot to answer bigmarc in one of his posts. First of all PROMO cds of synthia's album were given to stores and dj's only. Why would you have seen a promo? LOL also you gotta understand we are a very small indi label, and our distributor promised to make posters, postcards etc.. for promotions and never did. Believe me I was pissed. Synthia is a very good vocalist. Honestly. and she deserves alot more support from radio, stores, promoters, and the fans. Alot of you are great. and she appreciates all the support from those who show it. We havent given up. She has a new Freestyle cut on PARADE 2K1. and we are in the works for a pop album for her now as well.
