Sweet Sensation Question

I was a reading a review for SWEET SENSATION's LOVE CHILD cd on Amazon.com. In the review it stated that Betty was struck with cancer which force the group to break up.

I have never heard this. Has anyone else heard of this??

if you go onto amazon.com and type in sweet sensation you could read the review for yourself. it's a recent review (august 2002) and it's from a person in california.

wow!! I never knew this!! I used to speak to the group's bassist and he never told me of such a story. He said the break up had to do with the record label they were on.

I also read years ago that ATCO folded and some artists were picked up by the (parent) label and all Freestyle acts were not. Hard to believe since Sweet Sensation hit number 1 with 'If Wishes came True'. I wonder if they were thinking of Expose's Gioia Bruno, having found a cyst on her vocal chords back in the early 90s, and confusing the group with Sweet Sensation, then saying Betty had cancer. That would not surprise me since people out there still mess up between who was Expose, Sweet Sensation and the Cover Girls.

I heard the same..as soon ATCO went out...Betty, left the group and the replacements that took Sheila's and Margie's place, were the only one's kept...before all of the ATCO, business happened ..I saw the group perform at a concert in Dallas, and she looked Great....

Yeah, it had turned into a 4-girl group when I last saw them perform in the 90's.
But then "it happenned".

I hope they got it confused, cuz Betty Lebron is one of my fav vocalist, & I always wanted to know more about her. I met her in the late 80's & again in da early 90's. I was so shocked to meet them, especially Betty. - (lol, my dad still remembers my face when she sang to me in front row).
I was only 12.

I just hope that she is ok, I send her blessings, & would like to know whats up wit her.
