Sweet sensation in a film?

Well to be fair, Betty was the signature sound of Sweet Sensation and she really did sing - I heard her live and she was awesome. Milli Vanilli was a complete fraud who did NONE of the vocals at all and took a Grammy home that was completely undeserved. And it's nothing new in music - there was a well known disco act in the 70's called LIME - the lineup kept changing but since the public never knew what they really looked like the producers would just hire people to "be" Lime onstage and lip synch the hits - that way LIME could be playing all over the place at the same time and raking in the bucks for them!!!! Even in the movies - a woman named Marni Nixon was the singer who dubbed in the singing voice for Natalie Wood in "West Side Story" as well as dozens of classic films in the 50's..it's a trick as old as the hills lol

Wow. I had no there were session singers. Although, I always thought that Margie sang lead on "Let Me Be The One" on the first album. Does anyone know? I can say that I've seen Sweet Sensation in concert and they did sing live at times. It was back in December 1990 here in Chicago. They headlined a show for 10,000 people...it was awesome by the way. Anyway, they did a fair job, not the greatest, but it was good. Their show was electrifying though! Did I just use that word? Needless to say, back in the day, dance acts were expected to lip sync because of the choreography. Whatever the case, I still love everything those girls have done.

By the way, does anyone know the girls' ethnic background? I know they were Latin, but what nationality?

A long, long time ago on 2nd Generation, on the episode with Corina, she had mentioned that she had been in a movie with India and Marc Anthony, but I think it was called Street Dreams about a bunch of kids trying to make it in the business... Is this the same movie or another one altogether?
