The TWU voted to return to work because it was financially impossible to continue. The trains should be running in time for tomorrow's evening rush hour. The buses may been running even sooner than that.

philly had the same strike but it was not on every news station ny gets everything on the news they even tell ya when Dave Lettermen is in the bathroom what is the hype of ny ? i was there it is no big deal its just like any other city philly has a bus and el / subway same as ny philly has sports teams ny has to many teams . philly has good shops etc . only bad thing about philly is the crime rate people are killin each other over dumb stuff and steallin if these bumbs would get a job they wont has to rob or steal.

Even if you took away all of our sports teams, NYC is the place to be....we've got the overpriced stores and the even more expensive nightclubs...not to mention talk shows, famous skyscrapers....although philly's got a lot going in its own right.

Yeah but philly being tax free on clothes isn't going to want to make people go there...the money for transportation would defeat the purpose!

I sympathize for the workers that have to maintain the cleanliness of the subway and buses, because that job is never done...but to make between $30K-$55K just to sit on their asses all day in a booth or driving around the city or opening and closing doors on a train and then say that they're not getting enough just reeks of greed. They may be part of a union, but they wear uniforms with MTA on them which means that they have to adhere by their rules. And the bs about working w/o a contract? We all work w/o a contract. They should just do their job for their so-called crappy pay like the rest of us do.
