This is why freestyle is dead. Over the last 15 years, there have been many promises from different artists and labels for different projects that were supposed to come. Most never materialize. This is a HUGE let down for the die hard fans and DJs that would be willing to support the genre. Stevie B was supposed to have an album out now sine last year. Everytime I turn around, it's a later date (if it even gets released). Now I am sure that the distribution and advertisement of this cd will be minimal, so why keep pushing it off until the supporters stop trying to find out about the release and then it gets released and alot of people end up being left in the dark if they gave up on trying to find out when the never releasing project gets released. Also the sound and the material gets dated and how do they expect air play? I remember many years ago Stevie B was going to release an album with a song that he sang in several different languages, guess what, never released. What happened to "Freestyle" the movie? I spoke with Stevie B late last year and he said it will be coming out soon. I guess soon never happened. They didn't have funding for the project, but yet the still have the trailer on sites having people believe it is coming out. Stevie B was supposed to release a song called S.O.S last year, what happened? Also what happened to Coro's album that was supposed to come out 2 years ago? I remember talking to Tony Moran in 1990 and I was asking him about Concept of One and if he was going to release a cd, He had said that March, well it was released, (Thank God) but several years later. I kept always looking for it until I found it and bought it, but they once again missed the chance to sell it when the market was much larger for that music and the demand was much higher with then with the "Question" being newly released then. I am just very frustrated with Freestyle!!!! I love the music but you need alot of patience for it.

I can't speak on all the specifics but I can say that the process of making an album, promotion, label issues, funding, etc. are definite challenges to releasing new material. I don't think Stevie B has been trying to "fool" us by saying that an album was coming out. Things fall through sometimes. Anyway... doesn't he HAVE a NEW one?? The music industry can be a tricky one. Have some understanding. The industry can not only be frustrating for the Freestyle fan but also the Freestyle artist.

I'm sure many can relate with you and for what ever reason Stevie B must have or hopefully has good reason for any delay releasing projects. But maybe this a good time for you to seriously consider creating projects of your own. I'm a dj too and at some point, every dj has played with the idea of someday coming out with their own material. I mean why wait for something to happen? I imagine you have a good idea of what's hitting right now and what Freestyle fans are most receptive to. You could turn whatever frustration energy you feel into creative energy. Who knows? You could be sitting on the next smash and not even know it. Years back, many Chicago djs felt something similar in the sense that they were frustrated with artists they respected, pushing their release dates back.....so they did the inevitable and took steps to creating & producing their own tracks. I do not know if this is a possibility for you right now, but it is an option that is out there. Just something to consider.

All the best Brother,

I've already been hearing his single "Old School Party" out here in Cali for about 2 months now. Decent track. Not exactly Freestyle but a good song nonetheless.

"Old school party" is already on the airwaves in Canada. Although the album has not been released yet; you can find the single on the SPG/Universal Canada compilation cd "Summer Rush 2005" You can buy it here or at your favourite Canadian retailer. Also, there has been two Stevie B. albums released in Canada over the last 3 years; greatest hits with rare jems and Canadian only remixed cuts on volume 2, that were different from the USA pressings http://www.spgmusic.com

Stevie B is the greatest pioneer of freestyle.
I have nothing but respect for Stevie & his work, but I don't know about that one. While it is true that Stevie B. is a Freestyle pioneer and has made his mark & major contributions to the world of Freestyle, but I personally wouldn't go that far. Don't get me wrong, I've always dug Stevie's work and I've used at least one of Stevie's songs in every Freestyle cd I've made since 1987-88. With all due respect, this is just my own personal view and not an invitation to debate with anyone.

All the best,

His Album is available in Brasil......and it seems that things are in the works to release it in the States and somewhere else, too. But there were many weeks passed by since this last rumor. I cant hear it is comming "soon" anymore that´s what happened many times back in the days.

I have his new album. It's available to purchase at his shows. He mentioned that it was going to drop soon but he's giving the people that go his shows first dibs.

I'm not going to give any info about the album away but I will let you know that it is HOT.

Yes i have Stevie B' new album. I bought at the freestyle explosion concert. It's off the hook. Stevie B rocks!!! and it includes that song S.O.S that your talking about. thank god for Stevie B who's keepin freestyle alive , doing freestyle concerts and releasing new material.

I think Stevie B is the King of freestyle. He is simply the best. I didn't mean to sound as if I was coming down on Stevie B. Actually he is one of the few that still has kept to his roots and hasn't forgotten about his fan base. I just think there should be a better way in doing business. Again I am not picking on Coro, but 2 years ago he was touring with Stevie B and TKA (with George Lamond). He sang his old music and his new song which was supposed to come out in a few months. That was 2 years ago. I had spoken to Kayel back then also and TKA was supposed to release their cd with George that next month. Nothing happened.... They should know the cd is far from being released but they promote it as if it is coming out tomorrow. When TKA was together, and if they wanted to really promote their new music, why did they not have a new cd to sell at the concerts when they were touring? Same as for Coro and the others. We all know where freestyle truely stands in the year 2005. This is why it is SO vital that any exposure they get, it should be capitalized on. TKA from my understanding had monetary issues which caused the cd not to be released. With all the work they did to record the tracks, don't you think any money is better than no money?

yeah i got stevie b's album too... its called THIS TIME 2005...

I love stevie

Stevie B has lasted this long due to his dedication and devotion to his work, AND because his fans have stuck by him. I would love to hear some of his new work, I bet it kicks ^&&&***

The fans have stuck by him becasue he cares about his fans. That makes a diference, unlike TKA.

OMG LMFAO!!! CLICK ON THE HERE LINK IN THE ABOVE POST.....TOO FUNNY!!

I have that album, too but it was a pain in the a.. to get it. A friend of mine here in Germany had contact to someone in Brasil and so he got a few albums. You guys can go to Live concerts but for his Fans overseas it is not possible and Stevie B is beside Johnny O and Lil Suzy one of the most known Freestyleacts. So i find it not so good that the Product is official only available in Brasil. Fans from Overseas are real Fans long time ago back in the late 80`s. So he can push his album over here, too.
