I remember when spring love was out.. i was in the 8th grade.. they played it 2x at the Graduation dance..(LOL)
anyway.. it was Stevie B at the time.. b/c he had already put out Party your body & dreamin of love from the album.

Maybe he doesn his writing credits under his real name for copyright purposes. maybe using his stage name for credit prohibits him from using or seeling the song to someone other than the label Stevie B" is with...

Yes - Back in the day, writing credits on Stevie B.'s early material went to "Stevie or Steven Hill". I believe writing credits changed to "Stevie B." after he converted to Islam on his 4th album HEALING...

Actually, If you look on the back of one of Stevie's singles from his first album, it says "Steve Hill-P/K/A Stevie B" PKA=Previously known as. I guess by that time, the name Stevie B. was known enough that he decided to just go by Stevie B.
