Spanish freestyle;

My first single Dont let me go is half in Spanish & half in english.

Some of my favs are Bernardo,Dont quit on me Angelique I cant live without you , Artie Amame

There should be no drawbacks to recording Freestyle songs in Spanish. Nayobe did it way back in "Please Don't Go", then in 1987 FFWD flipsided their "Baby Don't Go" with an all-spanish version. I will admit when Freestyle artists tried to go house, it didn't work, right Nelson?

Worst Spanish rendition nominee...Collage (sorry, Dude).

Why is it getting out of control?

Why start the thread and fuel to it ?

Does it matter what language its recorded in ? No

I wanna hear some freestyle whether it's in ingles o espanol with a cumbia feel, or at least a cumbia breakdown.

Thank you all who Have respected my lingo...lol...I always love spanish as a matter of fact on "Eres Mi Vida" I did a Lil Portugese at my end add libs. Cause of course the songs was written to a Portugese girl I know. And if anybody saw the movie "3 ninjas strike back" when the 3 kids go to Japan as they flying and when they are leaving the airport there 2 Japanese Tracks which I love very much Have no freaking Clue what they are singing, but it sounds cool. Check it out. I think Freestyle Has gotten so far and yet get no respect. MKG you are so right, and I always respected your work nice to see you posting. Lets keep the freestyle moving further than it has gotten. BTW my song "Nunca" did very well in Peru and they didn't even know the english part, but love it.

I just dont see any "sub genres" for freestyle. Havent we ripped it apart already? I mean, just because there is a song with "spanish" in it, why does it automatically become "spanish freestyle" and not regular "freestyle"?

what about the songs that feature both spanish and english? shall we call it "SPANISH/ENGLISH FREESTYLE?"

Or how about the freestyle songs with "RAPPING" in it?

How about we call that "RAP FREESTYLE"?

& how about the the songs with "heavy guitar" influences? shall we call it "heavy metal freestyle"?

pretty soon, we will be dividing it based about RACE, RELIGION, CULTURE & SEXUAL ORIENTATION!!!!

WHERE DOES THE MADNESS STOP?

To me, a song that has many mixes to it such as BABY DONT GO (spanish, house, english) is just FREESTYLE with DIFFERENT MIXES. thats it. nothing more. nothing less.

Kenny my song, "Y TU TE OLVIDARAS, was written in Spanish and recorded in Spanish, therefore it is Spanish Freestyle. you may not like it, but that is what it is. We are not trying to make it a racial thing, nobody did.lol so let's relax a bit here. The topipc is a logical one, and due to alot of songs that are being recorded in spanish, people have stated thier opinions. In no way do I see this becoming racial, unless you take it there. Freestyle has always been stereotyped and segregated, let's not continue THAT madness.

Muah.

Naya, I wasnt trying to bring up the "racial thing" but I just dont like when freestyle has to be cut down anymore than it already has.

as for your song, its just good ol FREESTYLE to me!

why would it be cut down because it is spanish? I odn't understand that logic? if anything other cultures of Freestyle will enhance the already dead ass hell genre.

its the whole cutting down thing with freestyle. everyone has a reason or a theory to call a freestyle song something else.

dont mind me, Naya....I just get in these moods sometimes!!! 😉

If its sung in:

German it is German Freestyle
in Portugese= Portugese Freestyle
in Chinese= Chinese Freestyle
in Spanish= Spanish Freestyle...its an easy concept to understand

like i said, if it sung in both languages, is it called "SPANISH/ENGLISH FREESTYLE" or "SPANGLISH FREESTYLE"?

(tonasia's "wondering", for instance)

Not an easy concept to understand. :rolleyes

I think Johnny O said it best when he title one of his albums "call it what you like".

LET's not forget SWEET SENSATION's spanish versions of: "Sincerely Yours" (Sinceramente Tuya"), & "Take It While It's Hot" ("Cojelo Que Esta Caliente'"), & "Never Let You Go".

& Although Pajama Party had their 1st single to be ORIGINALLY entitled in Spanish ("Yo No Sé"), The first to do it was Sly Fox with "Como Tu Te Llama".
Yeah Nayobe had "Please Dont Go" in a Spanish version first, but it was originally an English song.
So it's Sly Fox, & then Pajama Party.🙂

if a freestyle song is sung in spanish why would it be any different? simply bcuz it was started in english first? then ya wont like the spanish version bcuz for those that dont speak and understand spanish wont give it any credit nah man thats not right the point of the matter is.....is still freestyle and whoever is singing it is keeping the music alive and dont u know that spanish is one of the most beautiful languages that god created and if a artist were to sing it in spanish, like i said b4 many doors could be open, many barriers could be broken

so regardless of what language a freestyle song is sung the artist is representin the music to the fullest.......to give ya guys an example theres a group of 4 guys in italy named apollo if im correct guess who's song they singing?.......stevie b and their songs is strickly in italian now why would i hate on them? bcuz is not in english certainly not......guys we got admirers from the 4 corners of the world that love freestyle be happy that atleast they singing it in their own tongue and keepin the legacy goin

I think

No matter what you called it where ever you are, it's still freestyle. It's basicly what or however is known in your area. In MA is consider Club House not Freestyle. So don't worried about it. Let our music be heard in any language and represent it. Kenny have a coke and a smile and chill. :blah
