Ok, instead of "answer songs", how about songs that mention other songs?

Example:

Samantha Fox recorded "Naughty Girls (Need Love Too)" Her next cd had the song "I Wanna Have Some Fun", which has the lyric...

"Of course I love you, but Naughty girls need love too."

Mary J. Blidge's song "Family Affair" has lyrics that say.....

"you've got to dance for me" and Dance For Me is a song on the same cd.

Later, in the same song, she says:

"'cause we're celebrating, no more drama in my life" and there is also a song called "No More Drama" on that cd as well.

Nyasia's "True Love" has lyrics in the chorus that go (and I'm not 100% on them, sorry Nya....😉 ):

"when I wished on a star, you appeared, here you are, promise I'll always be true, now and forever..."

can anyone think of songs that mention other songs?????

Damnm why can't I think of any! Chucky stole all the good ones! LOL!

"American Pie - The day the music died" references "That'll Be The Day" by Buddy Holly
"Snoop Doggy Dog" references "Atomic Dog" From da funk masta George Clinton
"Wild Wild West" Wil Smith - "Wild Wild West" Kool Moe Dee
"Empt Without Me" Eminem - Batman theme 😛

"Black Suits Comin(nod ya head)"Will Smith - "Back In Black" AC/DC
"California love"- "California Dreaming" Mamma &Pappas, And I can't think of the original title by Roger Troutman

Madonna's "Deeper and Deeper" quotes lyrics from "Vogue."

"We Are The Ones" by Legends of Style quotes lots of different freestyle songs.

Chuck are we going to have to have a Janet vs. Madonna throwdown??

Slick Rick in "Ladi Da Di" sings "Sukiaki" by A Taste Of Honey... and in "Mona Lisa" he sings "Walk On Bye" by Dionne Warwick, well he doesn't sing it a female does... is that kinda what u meant chuck???

Chuck, I demand an apology about Miss Jackson. She wouldn't back down from Miss I'm Suddenly British...

You can demad all you want. You ain't gonna get it.

This "queen" bows before only one queen, and that is Ms. Ciccone.

and I knew you'd come back with stuff Ivan....so I got some info from allmusic.com

Both the divas have 5 grammy awards each. it's a tie.

Both of the divas have had multiple sell out tours, and multi platinum albums. Tie.

Both diva's had their first Billboard Hot 100 singles in 1983, Janet with "Young Love", and Madonna with "Holiday".

In the 22 years since, Janet has gathered herself 29 chart entries to the Top 100. Nice.

Madonna has gotten 48, nearly twice the amount Janet has. :nah

Then there are Madonna's movies (compared to Janet's one) and Madonna's books (compared to Janet's none) and Madonna's turn on Broadway in a play (that Janet never did) and Madonna's Golden Globe award, that Janet doesn't have......

I think that puts Madonna just a few rungs over Janet.....

ahem.. she had two movies plus three successful tv series.. I think that ties it.
Plus most of madonna's movies were FLOPS! so they don't count

We're there two movies? I don't remember two. I remember Poetic Justice. What was the other one?

Not like Poetic Justice was a success, so according to you, it doesn't count.

:losmile

Seriously Knightfell, I don't remember Janet's other movie....what was the title?

That way, I can remember, and slap myself in the forehead and say "DUH!"

Let's not forget Janet's wardrobe malfunction! :lol

That's gotta count for something!

Oh please.

Madonna had been flashing us for years before that happened. I give the edge to Madonna on that front too. 😉

Thank you Knightfell for mentioning Janet's stellar films and television performances! Chuck, thanks for the stats though.
