hi all, hope this is the right forum, what software would you recommend for me to put 15 years worth of freestyle 12's on my computer? i'm thinking cakewalk, soundforge?

any ideas would be appreciated!

you can use an external 24 bit sound card called Sound Blaster MP3+ you can get it from www.creative.com or any computer electronic store like Best Buys or CompuServe & it only cost $40.00 hardware & software is included with it,.. just load the software plug in the sound card and plug in your turntable or cassette player and start recording your music to covert is to digital for a CD.

oh yeah you can clean up the sound with it too like hisses, pops, craks found in LP's for a much cleaner sound.

i recorded over 1000 lp's in the past five years the best way is to connect ur turntable to a mixer the connect the main out of the mixer to the line in in the pc and record using sound forge (don't forget to connect the ground cable on the mixer) get a direct x plugin called sonic foundry vinyl restoration
i tried most of the softwares and this is the most effective way (in my opinion) 🙂

I usually record music from my mixer to a cd-r with my cd burner. Then transfer from the cd-r to my computer using nero mp3 pro plugin which let's you choose the quality of your download from the cd-r to the hard drive. Even better yet if you could record to a dvd-r using dvd recorder and then transferring to your computer. The blank dvd-r holds 4.7gb of data. The only drawback is that you have to go back through and name all your files afterwards. Antonio
