I'M BACK WITH MY WEEKLY
SMACKDOWN! REPORT

Rey Mysterio vs. Jamie Noble vs. Tajiri

Caught up with the feed a bit late today, sorry. When I tuned in, Rey Mysterio's music was playing and he had just finished winning the triple-thread match against Jamie Noble and Tajiri. Mysterio is now the number one contender for Matt Hardy's Cruiserweight title. The two now have a match scheduled for WrestleMania X9.

Winner via pinfall - Rey Mysterio

Chavo Guerrero & Eddie Guerrero vs. Chuck Palumbo & Johnny Stamboli

Chavo and Eddie Guerrero got the win via pinfall in a good match. Afterwards, Stamboli and Palumbo were joined by Nunzio who was at ringside. The three did a post-match beat down of "Los Guerrero's".

Winners via pinfall - Eddie Guerrero & Chavo Guerrero

Backstage Segment - Kurt Angle & Paul Heyman

Paul Heyman is pleading with Kurt Angle to find a way to get him out of his scheduled steel cage match with Brock Lesnar, which Lesnar won last week by defeating both members of Team Angle. Angle says he thinks due to his "special relationship" with Stephanie McMahon, he thinks he'll be able to get Heyman off the hook.

Backstage Segment - Stephanie McMahon & Kurt Angle

Kurt Angle goes to Stephanie McMahon's office to attempt to talk her out of keeping the match between Lesnar and Heyman in a cage. Stephanie says she's tired of Angle trying to suduce her into doing what he wants. Because of that, if Lesnar beats Heyman in their steel cage match tonight, he gets Kurt Angle for the WWE title next week on SmackDown!

Matt Hardy vs. Billy Kidman (Cruiserweight Title)

Matt Hardy defeated Billy Kidman in a Cruiserweight title rematch from No Way Out. Hardy got the pinfall to retain the belt.

Winner via pinfall - Matt Hardy

Nidia Interview

Nidia backstage with Josh Mathews. They air a clip from Nidia's trip to the Playboy mansion where she encourages two security guards to tell Hugh Heffner to watch how wild she can get next Thursday on "Girls Gone Wild".

We then go back to Nidia with Josh Mathews. She challenges Torrie Wilson to a body challenge at the "Girls Gone Wild" pay-per view next week. The basic challenge is, who looks better naked. She then shows Josh Mathews her breasts, but the camera can't see it. Of course, Josh Mathews gets wide-eyed.

Undertaker & Nathan Jones In-Ring Practice

Undertaker is explaining to Nathan Jones how the ring is similar to a jail cell. You have to put your time in and make sacrifices. They train with two jobbers in front of some people in the audience. Jones beats up one of the guys and refuses to stop until 'Taker pulls him off of the guy.

Undertaker w/ Nathan Jones vs. A-Train w/ Big Show

Undertaker had Nathan Jones in his corner, A-Train had Big Show. Lot of outside interference from Big Show while Nathan Jones would inadvertantly distract the referee. Match ended when Nathan Jones speared Big Show causing the disqualification. Might have ended in a double-DQ as the ref saw interference from Big Show as well. After the match, Undertaker and Nathan Jones cleaned house.

Disqualification

Hulk Hogan Looking For Vince McMahon

Hulk Hogan is shown arriving to the arena. He asks a referee where Vince McMahon is. Hogan tells the ref that everyone we'll see just how big a coward he is when he goes to the ring in a few moments.

Stephanie McMahon Kicks Big Show/A-Train Out

During the break, Big Show and A-Train were arguing with Stephanie McMahon. She was telling them, not asking them, to leave the arena. Big Show and A-Train wanted to talk to their manager Paul Heyman, but Stephanie said she is the General Manager and forced them to leave the building.

Team Angle vs. Chris Benoit & Rhyno (Non-Title)

Pretty long back and forth match. Finish saw Chris Benoit apply the Crippler-Crossface to Charlie Haas. Haas eventually tapes out to give Chris Benoit and Rhyno the win in this non-title match up.

Winners via submission - Chris Benoit & Rhyno

John Cena Freestyles On Brock Lesnar

Another freestyle from John Cena about he's going to beat up Brock Lesnar when he returns from his leg injury in a little while. This one was actually pretty good. Cena was intense.

Intense Hulk Hogan/Vince McMahon Segment

VERY intense promo between Hulk Hogan and Vince McMahon. Everything from the creator of Hulkamania, to the creator of WrestleMania, and even Vince McMahon's steroid trial was brought up. "Bulls*t artist", "son of a bitch", "dillusional coward" and everything in between was said. Bottom line, Hulk Hogan and Vince McMahon agree to a fight, not a match, at the biggest stage of them all. Hogan and McMahon agree to a fight at WrestleMania X9.

Backstage Segment - Kurt Angle & Paul Heyman

Backstage, Kurt Angle is shown complaining to Paul Heyman. Angle was telling Heyman that no matter what he has to win tonight, or else he has to defend his WWE title in a one-on-one match against Brock Lesnar next week on SmackDown!

The steel cage match between Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman is up next!

Brock Lesnar vs. Paul Heyman (Steel-Cage)

Match starts off with Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas running into the cage and in the ring to attack Lesnar. Kurt Angle is on the outside instructing his Team Angle running buddies. Eventually, Lesnar throws Haas and Benjamin out of the cage and goes after Paul Heyman on the outside. Angle attacks Lesnar from behind, but Lesnar eventually gets the better of Angle. Somewhere along the lines, Lesnar opened up Angle's ear.

Lesnar finally gets Heyman into the cage and locks the door and the match is on. Lesnar beats up Heyman for a while before Angle gets in the cage and gets Lesnar in the ankle lock. While in the ankle lock, Lesnar has a hold of Heyman who is trying to escape the cage. Heyman eventually climbs the cage to escape, but Lesnar climbs up after him and gets him back in the ring. Match ends when Lesnar hits the F-5 on Heyman for the pinfall victory. This gives Brock Lesnar the match against Kurt Angle next week on SmackDown! for the WWE title.

Winner via pinfall - Brock Lesnar

RAW RESULTS FOR 03-03-2003

We start with a live look at Eric Bischoff, pacing around the parking lot. He tells Rico, Jamal, and Rosie, all holding weapons, that they are the first line of his Stone Cold Welcoming Party. He tells them to bash his skull in, but to save just a little for him so that he can personally make Stone Cold's return to Raw also his last.

The Raw music video plays, the pyros explode, and we are LIVE from Long Island, New York! Tonight, we'll see The Rock, the return of Stone Cold Steve Austin, but first, Booker T takes on Scott Steiner!

Booker comes down with a huge smile on his face. Everyone knows who he is now, five-time, five-time, five-time, five-time, five-time WCW Champion. Last week, he won the Battle Royal and got a trip straight to WrestleMania. Can you dig that?

Triple H's music hits, and the World Heavyweight Champion walks down the ramp, accompanied by Ric Flair. Triple H looks his opponent up and down, and says that Booker must be a little confused about his role. Booker will get to go to WrestleMania, but he doesn't get to be a World Champion. People like Booker don't deserve it. Booker isn't here to be a competitor; he is an entertainer. He asks for Booker to do a Spinaroonie and dance for him, because that is his job. Booker is here to make people like Triple H laugh. He laughed his ass off at the idea of nappy-haired Booker challenging for the World Title. Booker may have been a 5-time WCW Champ, but WCW was a joke. He was a Champ around the same time other illustrious names like David Arquette and Vince Russo wore the belt. Booker "championed" that place into the ground. So now he thinks he has a chance at WrestleMania, the biggest show of all time, and wrestle The Game, the biggest wrestler in this business? When Booker gets there, he's going to do what he always does: lose.

Trips begins to leave, but Booker calls him back. Some of what he said might be true, but it doesn't change the fact that Booker is going to WrestleMania. And somebody like him is going to ragtag Triple H's ass and beat him for the World Heavyweight Championship. And that will be something to laugh at. Trips wishes Booker luck at WrestleMania, and also against Scott Steiner tonight. Trips wonders aloud what would make Bischoff sign a match like that. After a match with a guy like Steiner, Booker will be lucky to make it to WrestleMania.

In the back, Jamal tells Rico and Rosie that the way they are positioned, Austin can see them all when he arrives. Rico sends them to alternate positions, where they hide in wait. Fade Out.

Match: Jeff Hardy vs. Christian

Jeff immediately attacks Christian and flips him onto the apron. Jeff slides under and pulls Christian down, smacking his head onto the apron. Jeff goes up top and leaps onto Christian outside. Back in the ring, Jeff pins 1-2-kickout.

Jeff goes up top again, but Christian 'buckles him. Christian drops Jeff onto the ropes 1-2-shoulder up. Kicks to the gut by Christian, then mounted punches. Abdominal stretch applied by Christian. Jeff breaks the hold and looks for a jawbreaker, but Christian kicks him in the gut and hits a reverse DDT 1-2-kickout.

Knockdown by Jeff, then a clothesline. Front dropkick by Jeff for a two count. Jeff pulls Christian down and hits a double legdrop, but Christian rolls him up using the tights 1-2-kickout. Jeff hits the double legdrop and goes up top. Christian gets up in time, so Jeff lands on his feet, runs up the turnbuckle again and hits the Whisper in the Wind 1-2-shoulder up.

Jeff goes for the Twist of Fate, but Christian holds the ropes, causing Jeff to slam himself into the mat. Christian picks him up and hits the Unprettier 1-2-3!

In the back, Bischoff meets up with Lance Storm. He heard that Regal is sick, so he wants Lance to join Chief Morley as the second line of the Welcoming Committee. He gives Storm a short staff and says that if Austin makes it into the building, he wants Storm to give him a personal welcoming. Fade Out.

Match: Chief Morley vs. Spike Dudley

Chief Morley comes down to the ring, saying that he can make his matches as interesting as he wants them to be. So how about this: if Spike Dudley can defeat him tonight, he will reinstate BuhBuh and D-Von. However, if either BuhBuh or D-Von interfere, they will remain suspended indefinately.

Spike runs down and slides under Morley to get in early shots. Morley quickly regains control and clubs away on Spike's back. Spike pushes Morley into the corner, boots Morley and starts biting Morley on the forehead. He looks for the Acid Drop, but Morley counters into a powerbomb. Morley just lays back on Spike for a lax pin 1-2-Spike rolls over 1-2-kickout.

Morley beats on Spike, then rams him into the turnbuckles. Chops by Morley, then a vertical suplex, then another, then another. Morley goes up top and hits the Money Shot 1-2-3!

In the back, Jericho congratulates Christian on his win, and says that he has some secrets in store for Test tonight. Bischoff comes in and says that even though he already has one welcoming committee in the parking lot and another inside the doors, he doesn't want to take any chances. Jericho says that he and Christian would love to help welcome Stone Cold. Fade Out.

Match: Trish Stratus & Jackie vs. Jazz & Victoria

Jazz and Victoria argue over which will start the fight, so Trish runs over and bulldogs both of them. Jacqui comes in and fights Jazz to start the match. She beats on Jazz, but Victoria grabs her foot. Jacqui boots Victoria away, only to turn into a Jazz dropkick. Powerslam by Jazz 1-2-kickout. Tag to Victoria.

Victoria backs Jacqui into the corner for a Superkick, but Jacqui ducks and Victoria nails Jazz. Jacqui goes up on Victoria's back, but Victoria drops for a sidewalk slam 1-2-shoulder up. Victoria lays in with shoulder thrusts, but Jacqui sidesteps and Victoria runs into the ringpost. Tag to Trish.

Trish comes in and boots Victoria down. She punches away on Victoria, then chops her into the ropes. Lou Thesz Press by Trish, followed with mounted punches. She elbows Jazz off the apron and into Stevie Richards. Jazz gets back on the apron, but Stevie pulls her off and yells at her. Jacqui runs across the ring and baseball slides into both of them. Meanwhile, Trish 'buckles Victoria and goes for the hurricanrana, but Victoria blocks and pins 1-2-shoulder up as Trish flips backwards, bridging Victoria 1-2-3! Fade Out.

In the back, Coach knocks on The Rock's door and asks for a word. Rock says Coach should know better that to think he can just get a word with the Rock. Rock tells Coach to come back on Wednesday. Rock goes back into his room, asking where his guitar is because he needs to sing a song to soothe his soul. He checks behind a curtain and finds the Hurricane waiting for him. Rock closes it, wonders if he saw what he thinks, then re-opens it, at which point Hurricane flies out. He calls Rock a hypocrite for saying he would beat down Stone Cold last week, then letting Bischoff's guys do the dirty work today. Rock wonders how long Hurricane has been in there, watching him change. Rock goes over all the things Hurricane said to him last week, saying that it was The Rock who tossed Hurricane over the top last week, screaming in Hurricane's ear. Hurricane says he remembers the Rock screaming, but it was after Booker T threw him over the top. Rock says he didn't get thrown over, but rather that he tripped. He says that Hurricane is 100 pounds of nothing. He's a superhero who has braces. So before Hurricane goes and "flies out" and all that, let Rock remind Hurricane what he was screaming. He was screaming what The Scorpion King screamed: Haku machente ah. He asks if Hurricane realizes what that means. Hurricane says that if what he saw while hiding behind the curtain is any indication, it means that The Scorpion King has a tiny ding-a-ling. Rock denies this vehemently and asks why Hurricane is here. Hurricane says that he has figured Rock out. He talks big when Stone Cold isn't here, but tonight he is letting Bischoff do the work. The Rock is full of Brahma Bullcrap. Fade Out.

Match: Chris Jericho vs. Test

The Y2J Countdown hits 0.00 and out comes the Ayatollah, the Rock Star, the Living Legend, the King of the World, Chris Jericho. He appoligizes to Stacy... for her being stupid enough to hook up with a cheating, loser boyfriend like Test. Jericho plays footage from Test's GGW adventure where he signs some chests. In the back, Stacy gets upset at Test. Test says that he didn't cheat on her, and it was her idea in the first place. The GGW PPV is in ten days, and there are going to be a lot more chests flashed at him, and Stacy is going to have to deal with it. He tells her to stay in the back and runs to the ring.

Test races down the ramp and into the ring, where he begins uppercutting Jericho. Military press slam by Test, who then smashes Jericho's head into the mat repeatedly. As Test chokes Jericho with his boot, we see that Christian is forcing Stacy down the ramp.

Test sees this and leaves the ring. He clotheslines Christian down and tosses him over the barrier. He yells at Stacy, then reenters the ring. Jericho elbow drops him and hits a back suplex. Stomps by Jericho, who then tries to lock in the Walls of Jericho, but Test shoves him away with his legs. Test picks Jericho up and powerbombs him down 1-2-shoulder up.

Test sets up for the Big Boot, but Jericho pulls the ref in front of him. Not only does this keep Test from attacking, Christian comes in and hits the Unprettier on Test. Jericho pins 1-2-shoulder up.

Jericho starts to expose a turnbuckle when Stacy gets on the apron. Jericho grabs Stacy, but she slaps him. Jericho gets stunned and waltzes into a Full Nelson Bomb. Test pins, but Christian gets on the apron and distracts the ref. Test gets up and Boots Christian off the apron. As the ref checks on Christian, Jericho low blows Test 1-2-3!

After the match, Jericho forces Stacy into the ring, then he and Christian each get a chair. They set Stacy for the ConChairTo, but Test runs in and boots Christian out of the way. Jericho shoves the chair into Test's gut, allowing he and Christian to hit the ConChairTo on Test!

They again set up Stacy, when Shawn Michaels runs into the ring and takes Jericho down. Michaels nails Christian with Sweet Chin Music, only to turn around right into a chairshot by Jericho. As Michaels rolls around on the mat, Jericho says that he wants to end Michaels' career right now. He rears back with a chair, but then puts it down. He wants to end Michaels' career at the biggest stage of them all, one-on-one against Michaels at WrestleMania!

In the back, Jamal and Rosie complain of it being cold outside with no sign of Austin. Rico tells them to be patient. They spot headlights speeding towards them. They ready themselves as the car screeches to a halt right in front of them. They jump out to attack, only to find that it is Goldust, looking to congratulate Booker T.

In the arena, Chris Nowinski says that he can't wait to see Stone Cold Steve Austin get what's coming to him. Stone Cold is the type of guy who likes to defy authority, break the rules, and flip off his boss. Those are not good qualities. History has proved that these actions lead to anarchy. The Dudleys rush through the crowd and sneak up behind Nowinski, hitting him with a 3D. The go back through the crowd as they are still suspended.

In the back, Jericho and Christian smash things with their weapons in celebration of their two victories. All that is left, they say, is to welcome Stone Cold.

Match: Booker T vs. Scott Steiner

Booker T and Scott Steiner come out to face each other in a rematch of the final match on the final Nitro of all time.

Booker starts with a jumping calf kick, then lays in with chops. Booker misses the scissors kick, looks for a spinning heel kick, only for Steiner to catch him and drop him to the mat. Stomps by Steiner, then chops. Steiner backs him into the corner, but Booker fights out. Reverse thrust kick by Booker 1-2-shoulder up.

Chops by Booker, then the jumping calf kick again. Booker goes for the Spinaroonie, but Steiner lays him out before he can. Steiner calls for the end and applies the Steiner Recleiner. Big Poppa Pump notices that Triple H and Flair are walking down the ramp. He breaks the hold, yells at them, and comes back to Booker. Chops by Steiner, but Booker leapfrogs him and gets a victory roll 1-2-3!

As Steiner runs out to get Triple H and Flair for costing him the match, Booker stands in the ring and hits the Spinaroonie.

In the back, The Rock tells a worker to find Bischoff and bring him to the Rock's room. Rock says that he's not afraid of Austin. Fade Out.

In the back, The Rock spots his guitar and starts playing a tune. The Rock is bigger than Tom Cruise and Tom Hanks, but he still has to deal with these Long Island skanks. He'll whip Austin's ass, you know, and that's the bottom line because The Rock said so.

Bischoff comes in and Rock asks if Eric is trying to make The Rock look bad. The Rock made it clear last week: if Austin has a problem with Rock, he can confront Rock. Now Bischoff has a welcoming committee for Stone Cold? No way. If someone gets to Austin before The Rock does, The Rock won't be happy. After The Rock is done, and only after that, then Bischoff can have his welcoming committee. And if it doesn't happen that way, Rock will walk back to SmackDown. Bischoff runs off to make some changes. Fade Out.

Match: Kane/RVD vs. Al Snow & Tommy Dreamer

Kane and RVD come down and get in the ring, while their opponents, Al Snow and Tommy Dreamer, come out with trashcans and shopping carts full of weapons. Al jumps in the cart and Tommy pushes him down the ramp, but they crash and are immediately at a disadvantage.

Van Dam goes on the apron and hits a backflip splash on Snow and Dreamer outside. RVD and Snow start the match in the ring, but Tommy nails Van Dam with the Singapore Cane. Kane hits Tommy with a clothesline off the top and looks for a chokeselam, but Al smacks him around with trashcan lids. Snow goes off on Kane and RVD with the lids for a long period of time, before drop toeholding Kane into the trashcans on the mat. Snow and Dreamer each hit Kane with baking sheets, but when they run for a double clothesline, Kane catches them both with a double Chokeslam! RVD goes up top, and Kane scoop slams Dreamer on top of Snow. Van Dam hits the Five Star onto the pile of opponents 1-2-3!

In the back, Bischoff gets all of his welcoming committee together to tell them about what the Rock said, when they notice Austin's truck barrelling towards them. They dive out of the way as Austin slides past them. He leaps out of the truck with a crowbar in hand, but doesn't need to use it as Bischoff makes all of his henchmen refrain from attacking. Fade Out.

The glass breaks, and Stone Cold Steve Austin marches down the ramp and into the Raw ring for the first time in nearly a year!

When he was coming down, Austin wondered whether he should start by talking about The Rock, or about how he whooped Eric Bischoff at No Way Out. But instead he wants to start by thanking everyone. Many months ago, Stone Cold told his boss to shove it, and as everyone liked to say, he took his ball and went home. He's back, and he didn't bring a ball, but rather a big can of whoop-ass that he's ready to spread to everyone in the back. Stone Cold has returned, and he's going to raise more hell than he has in his life.

The Rock's music plays, and the Brahma Bull comes out on the stage. It is so good to see Stone Cold, he says. He can't believe Stone Cold is going to thank the fans. They might cheer him now, but when Austin becomes successful, not just signing some autographs at a mall in Delaware, but successful like The Rock, the people will turn on him just like that.

The Rock has done it all in this business, except whoop Stone Cold's ass at WrestleMania. Think about it: in one corner, the man who revolutionized Monday nights, the man the fans pay to see, the biggest star of them all. And in the other corner, Stone Cold.

Eric Bischoff's music hits, and the GM comes out. He says that the best thing he can do for Rock is to give him choices. So next week, it will be Rock vs. Booker T. When Rock wins, he can choose between facing Austin, or getting a shot at the World Heavyweight Title against Triple H. As for Austin, the show is running about Three Minutes too long.

Rosie runs to the ring, and immediately gets a Stunner. Jamal is able to beat him into the corner, but Austin sidesteps him splash and hits a Stunner. Rico comes in and gets Lou Thesz Pressed. Austin gives him the fingers and then a Stunner. Rock comes into the ring and goes face-to-face with Austin, then backs off. He backs up and goes to leave, then turns to strike Austin, but Austin anticipates and ducks his shot. Austin goes for the Stunner but Rock is able to escape out of the ring just in time.

According to Joe McDonnell from the McDonnell-Douglas show which airs on ESPN Radio 710 in Los Angeles, Goldberg to WWE is an absolute done deal. The announcement was made on the radio station earlier this morning. Also, a family member of Goldberg told the radio show at the Laker game last night that it was a certainty.
