I just went to check out SATELLITE RADIO yesterday and was thinking of posting a new thread about this, but I changed my mind. But since this thread has been posted, I might as well talk about it here. I was originally at Circuit City to check out if there were any antenna's for walkman's and discman's so I could pick up ENERGY 92.7/101.1 Arizona's Dance Radio and happened to run into SIRIUS satellite radio. I quickly searched for a dance station and found out there were two that played true dance music and I was standing there in Circuit City for half an hour just listening to it. Then I talked to one of the employees about it, asking if there was one like a walkman that I could carry around. After two employees were done arguing over which one had the most channels we talked about the pricing - which I thought was too much for right now. I was impressed by SIRIUS, but remembered that XM had more dance channels that played only dance music, and not only that, there were different styles to choose from. I just got the brochure and looked for myself to see which had more channels and realized that SIRIUS would be good for my news channels and the talk radio I like to listen to because they do have more news channels, but then I asked myself which do I want more? to listen to talk radio or hear music? To make a long story short, they convinced me to leave the store and think about it because I took too long to make up my mind about if I really wanted satellite radio, and which one. I like the fact that SIRIUS has someone talking between songs that makes it feel like a true radio station, and also that they have people come on live and make comments and announce some of the people who have just joined so you feel more like there other people joining you as you listen - which is a feeling needed when it comes to listening to dance music these days. I didn't listen to XM long enough to see if they also talk, but was told that they also do by an employee at Circuit City. My main question about this whole thing was if they had live mix shows on satellite radio where whey mix songs back to back like regular radio. I was told that they do, but I'm not sure if I should take their word for it and end up paying monthly just to find out. I also think that right now I could do without satellite radio because I do have an all dance music station here in Phoenix, Arizona, unlike many states. (When I mentioned that I couldn't pick up ENERGY on my walkman or discman, the employees said that was too bad because ENERGY is a cool station. - This is the second time I heard someone mention this station while at a store > this shows that people are listening!) I was told during the arguement that SIRIUS had just added a few new stations to their service, but as far as I know, XM is still in the lead when it comes to dance music channels. Now I don't know which way to go because I kind of like the way SIRIUS sounds, but then I also kind of want more choices in music channels - not including sports and news. I guess I'll just forget that for right now because >as I watch the news I see that there are more important decisions that are trying to be made in the world. We're trying to find out and decide what the new name for our baseball stadium should be since the bank it was named after merged with another company causing it to change it's name. How should elections go this year and how are the changes from the war in Iraq going to affect everything? Was it right or wrong? America has been permanently changed forever since the attack has taken place - what shall come next?.........SPEAKING OF CHANGES, Arizona's dance radio station here in Phoenix will be CHANGING very soon...
