As I have written before, I feel this hott Miami female duo & their songs were kinda under-rated.

(With some words of my former article on this group, here goes:

Sequal was put together in Miami by Lewis Martineé in 1984 a lil' before he rounded up da girls for Exposé.
Their debut (& only) album was very good!
Filled with quality Freestyle jamz, Pop-R&B, & slammin' vocal arrangements.
Many have only heard the 1984 club classic "Its Not Too Late", or the bass-pumping "Im Over You".
But the album had great songs & beats that many have not heard to this day.

For example:
"Tell The Truth",
"Out Of Sight/Out Of Mind",
& "Took Another Chance" (w/guest back vocals by Nancy Martinez),
& the faster-paced "She Dont Want You".
(Also, notice "Its Not Too Late"'s beats & formula used again on Exposé's "Exposed To Love" & "Point Of No Return".)

This album includes production by:
Lewis Martineé (Exposé)
Mantronix (India, Nocera, Hanson & Davis)
Robert Rodriguez
Danny Tenaglia, & others.

Some of these songs were released as 12" singles & most included rare dance-floor-packed Freestyle mixes.
With Maria's strong energetic vocals, & Angie's smooth n' sexy vocals, & being on Capitol Records, its a shame they werent bigger than they were.
Yes, they were pretty well-known all over, but mainly Florida.

For Freestyle fanatics that havent heard this, grab a copy if u can!
Their album is very rare & hard to find in ANY format.

You guys out there that HAVE heard their other songs, mixes, & vocals, what do u think of them?
🙂

I have this cd and its DA bomb.........Kinda hard to fine now adays. But a good one to look for if you can find it.

I'm Over You is STILL SLAMMIN to this day!!

Did you say SEQUAL!!!! yeeeeeoowwww!!

Yum yum this sexy south Florida duet is a perfect combination of looks, sound and feeling. One in particular that I like is track 6 which is a bonus track ONLY on the cd..."Let it Go" by Michael Morejon
HOWEVER I personally think all of their songs are great but one that you mentioned "IT"S NOT TOO LATE" in my opinion is one of Freestyle's greatest jamz ever.....EVER!!! and the brainchild of Miami Freestyle master producer not to mention the producer to the most mainstream song by a Freestyle group "Season's Change" by Expose'. If it were not for our very own Scotman I would not have had the honor to meet Lewis A Martinee' just this past Wednesday in Miami. To hear Mr Martinee' play that song in his studio as opposed to listening to it on the radio or in your cd player is makes a world of difference. Not to mention to have him sign my sleeve. It was cool hitting the invisible drum together to that amazing song as it played!! He even got a kick seeing how I dropped a link to the song on my hompage.(click below)When asked.."where do you come up with the sounds" he answered "you see what it is that you like as you experiment"
On another note keep your ears open for some new versions of his classic hits to be coming soon!!!!
Scotman....THANKS a MILLION buddy!!!!!!!! It was a long awaited
experience!!
I will be posting a picture soon.

Ok, Some Inside Dirt:::: Maria, Is Maria Christension, Who Wrote "waiting For Tonight" That J-lo Sang..this Group Left Lewis' Pantera To Go With Joeyboy Records, Who Mgd Them As Well...yes Co. B., Nancy Martinez ( For Tonight), Sang Backgrounds And Remained Good Friends With Angie (the Brunette Of The 2 Sequals), Both Had Great Voices, Angie Was Originally From Bklyn, And Maria Now Lives In Manhattan! As A Sidebar, I Had A Date With Maria In 1986, We Went To The Garden To See David Lee Roth, And Later That Night At Her Show, I Smacked My Head Against A Low Beam, And Promptly Passed Out! I Told Her I Passed Out From All The Excitement Of Being With Her!! Don't Think She Bought It...when I Came To, With Blood Streaming Across My Face, I Met Lewis Martinee For The First Time..he Ended Up Hiring Me 2 Months Later...

I am not deejaying at this time...I would like to get back into it. Know any good record companies that can hook me up with the new stuff?? I still got all my freestyle, house, techno, and a lot of new Eurohouse...that's what I am into now, although FREESTYLE is still my muzik. Tell me what you are mixing now on Power 102 and I'll send you a CD for you to play it on there and bring back the memories. I am a firefighter out here in Albuquerque. And I love it here.

Whatz Up!!! why don't you try submitting mixes to KISS in Albuquerque?
D.J. Black mixes for them, he used to be with at Power. As for record
co. you might as well shop on line cause there really isn't anything good
coming out. try dancerecords.com or satelliterecords.com , they have a
good selection of house music. Now say something good about Sequal
because that's what you're supposed to be talking about!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FREESTYLE COMES FROM THE HEART

OK SEQUAL KICKS ___!!!!! I still got two 12" "It's not too late", that song there was the Jam and still is the Jam. I don't know if you remember but I when Sequal performed in El Paso, I did a mega mix off their Album. I still have that on tape. I still hear it here at home from time to time. It's a great group and I wish someone out there made a remix of the cut. Also, "I'm over you" was a good cut.

Does anyone know where I can get this cd?

-antonio

I don't think it's available anywhere....I have never seen or heard of it. I have the album and it can be recorded onto CD....

Its hard to find. I saw it on Ebay once for $75
