As I have written before, I feel this hott Miami female duo & their songs were kinda under-rated.
(With some words of my former article on this group, here goes:
Sequal was put together in Miami by Lewis Martineé in 1984 a lil' before he rounded up da girls for Exposé.
Their debut (& only) album was very good!
Filled with quality Freestyle jamz, Pop-R&B, & slammin' vocal arrangements.
Many have only heard the 1984 club classic "Its Not Too Late", or the bass-pumping "Im Over You".
But the album had great songs & beats that many have not heard to this day.
For example:
"Tell The Truth",
"Out Of Sight/Out Of Mind",
& "Took Another Chance" (w/guest back vocals by Nancy Martinez),
& the faster-paced "She Dont Want You".
(Also, notice "Its Not Too Late"'s beats & formula used again on Exposé's "Exposed To Love" & "Point Of No Return".)
This album includes production by:
Lewis Martineé (Exposé)
Mantronix (India, Nocera, Hanson & Davis)
Robert Rodriguez
Danny Tenaglia, & others.
Some of these songs were released as 12" singles & most included rare dance-floor-packed Freestyle mixes.
With Maria's strong energetic vocals, & Angie's smooth n' sexy vocals, & being on Capitol Records, its a shame they werent bigger than they were.
Yes, they were pretty well-known all over, but mainly Florida.
For Freestyle fanatics that havent heard this, grab a copy if u can!
Their album is very rare & hard to find in ANY format.
You guys out there that HAVE heard their other songs, mixes, & vocals, what do u think of them?
🙂
