Loneliness once found a home inside me
It tears me apart and I wish you could see
That it's been around for as long as I can remember
And I've cried every night since the month of September

Emptiness found its way to my soul
It holds me so close and it won't let me go
It stays with me through the passing of seasons
And I'm left all alone without a good reason

From the changing of leaves to the falling of snow
You've stayed in my heart, and I want you to know
When April comes and with it the rain
My heart will still miss you and will still feel the pain

The sun will be high in the summer month of June
And when August arrives it will be here too soon
For when that month ends, my misery starts
And now it’s been one year since I broke my love's heart
