No...Yuca is not Cassava, Cassava it is more associated with Tapioca. And like many plants even Mushrooms (A Fungus) can kill or make you sick if not properly cleaned or cooked properly.

Roots (Carrots, Potatoes, YUCA, Sweet potatoe, Malanga), plants, meats (Beef & Pork), FISH (Salt & Fresh water), Shell Fish(Clams, Crabs, Lobster), and Poultry can all make you sick if you do not properly clean and prepare these foods.

That is why FDA and city Laws govern Resteraunts and these little Hot Dog stands.
 
You never know what's in these hot dog stands.LOL. I seen too many of those caught on tape shows with people dropping food on the floor and putting it back on the buffet. Dudes mixing drinks with their di*ks.

LaBetty - you are very smart - I haven't eaten from one of those stands in years, after seeing a news reports that some of those vending companies in New York City were hiring HOMELESS PEOPLE to load the those vending carts - you know that water where the hot dogs float and the ice where the sodas are??? They had people who were not bathing and living on the streets handling the food - UGH - NEVER NEVER AGAIN!!!!

o labetty there yummy and if notice they show up at the copa after a show :lol love me some DWD those in the know it s dirty water dog it is the taste of NYC yum yum and those coal heated pretzels loaded with mustard

Well in NYC if I can't find a Kosher Deli to get a hot dog for a pretzel from, then I am not getting one!! Those "dirty water dogs" can rival White Castle "murder burgers" for keeping Immodium A.D. in business!!!
 
damian i have yet to have a problem ok . i like the guy on lex and 48th i think 1$ a dog just have tp be careful with the mustard always lands on my shirt :lol

Ed, I am happy you have not had a problem yet LOL but I am not going to risk it!!!

By the way, earlier postings in this thread about the Cassava root NOT being the same as the yucca are wrong - I read an Associated Press wire story tonight about the tragedy that said it was the SAME EXACT ROOT and that if it was not peeled or cooked thouroughly there is a chemical in it that reacts to create the poison....some of the students threw the root away after taking a bite or two and discovering it tasted bitter...a simple internet search also determines that the cassava is definitely the yucca....
