Now I really don't know what 'KTU is up to?
 
But this is the weird part of it.....the ratings of the 'KTU are actually BETTER as a rhythmic A/C than the dance era of 1996 - 2006! And that's what I'm trying to figure out...why now?

THOUGH, with Pulse 87's "Birthday Bash Numero Uno", the station (Pulse) has actually been picking up with publicity, the same way as when 'KTU started in '96 with their "Last Dance At Studio 54" promotion. As of late, more people are talking about Pulse because of this publicity. Maybe this is causing 'KTU to "blink"? I dunno and that's why I'm scratching my head on this wondering what IS going on there.

IF, and this is a "strange" IF, 'KTU were to go back towards a current dance format, they would have to really step it up because with dance fans knowing better due to a Pulse 87 (love or hate the station...Pulse IS playing the edgier currents) 'KTU would have to put on more dance currents, and not just the "safe" stuff. Increase it to a 60% current/40% recurrent versus what 'KTU was in 1996 70% recurrent/30% current and it could be interesting.

I don't see this happening but then again, stranger things have happened with the radio landscape. Call it "the economy", who knows....
 
KTU is positioning itself down the road since more uptempo music are on the charts. I don't think you'll see any drastic changes this year. It'll be a gradual change just like when they became more rhythmic ac. That's my guess. With KTU one never knows. Just look at what they just played.
