San Francisco has a new Dance Station

KPTI in San Francisco (92.7) has switched to an all Dance format. They are calling it Party and have played some classic Freestyle tracks. Things continue to look good for Dance music!!!

Dang.. you beat me to it... I live in Daly City, CA not that far from San Francisco where this station 92.7 based out of Alameda CA. I found this staton yesterday when just scaning through the channels. I was like dam.. This shit is thigh.. Since they got rid of Z95.7 a top40 station. Cool, dance is making an impact on the radio. I knew Z95.7 was going, it's owned by Bonniville; a mormon operated station. I knew they had to change because they were feeling heat from advertisers about having a CHR station like Z104 here in DC(which is owned also by Boniville). They had to edit too much in the songs they play. So they are basicly getting rid of all their Top 40 stations.

I wish we had a 24h dance station in Toronto. 🙁
Z103 plays some dance music but not nearly enough. Most of the time it's Nsync, Britney, hip-hop, R&B, etc.

We used to have an all dance station a few years ago called Power88.5 which failed. They even had a weekly freestyle show called "Club Freestyle" 🙂heee cool name!) hosted by Bernie B who used to write the Freestyle File for DMA magazine.

I miss that show. :sosad

Anyway, maybe the new station in San Francisco will be successful and somebody here will follow suit!

oh no!!! ok screw this station. it's nice to have a dance station in the bay area, but screw the guys behind this.
i'm starting to lose hope. no freestyle, or very little if they do play some on this station. i did some research this afternoon on them and what i feared has come true- they are owned by SBS but being run by the guy who consults party in florida which plays little freestyle at all. they are doing almost a carbon copy of this station in the bay area now. bringing the florida sound, just a mirror image of the sound they have going in florida but without remembering the freestyle that was so big in the bay area. if they don't start getting in some cynthia, angelina, jocelyn enriquez, stevie b, lil suzy and some of the others i'm going to be more pissed than i am now as i write this. we need to flood the phone lines when they get them up with nonstop requests for freestyle. just more corporate bullsh!t. i would have thought that SBS would have done something different since they have many latino stations, but they are just letting this guy bill tanner take over and bring a sound that isn't the best for us in the bay area.
wild 94.9 plays more freestyle than these guys do.

Hey cafreestyler we should get all of the people in the Bay Area to call them to get them to play some freestyle new and old. Wild 949 mostly play all the old school not that much new school. At least it's a try so they can get some dance and some freestyle because their has not been a station like this here in Cali
