First let me say to anyone from San Antonio, please don't get offended I'm just stating the facts, nothing personal.
Let me introduce myself. I haven’t been in the chat rooms since freestyle nation. I'm originally from CT and I just moved to Texas last year. Texas wasn't a place I ever planned on moving to but you can't help who you fall in love with. My husband is originally from Brownsville, TX, so that's why we moved here. That is a town in the middle of nowhere, I’m glad we're out of there. We now live in Austin we like it but it can't compare to the east coast.
Anyways lets get to the point of this post. This weekend I went to the Lo Rider Show in SA, where I was thought to believe that Angelina was going to perform but she only sang her duet with NB Riders. The pathetic part of this show was the crowd. I have not seen such a boring crowd since the last show in San Antonio a few months ago, they showed no love and they were disrespectful. But we’ll get back to that in a sec. Let’s just put it this way, no one was dancing, or having fun. I don’t even think anyone cracked a smile. They barely laughed when the comedian came out and he was funny. And when NB Riders sang there were maybe like 10 girls who were dancing and having fun. I was one of them and I don’t even know any of their songs. Everyone else just had these blank stares on their faces, u could feel the tension in there. No wonder Angelina didn’t sing I wouldn’t waste my breathe on that crowd either. Actually I think there was a problem with getting her music to work or something, at least that’s what they said.
Now about the freestyle concert from a couple of months ago. First off there was hardly anyone there, and the people who were there were incredibly boring. I can remember only one group of maybe five people besides me standing up and dancing. When the new artists came out everyone was sitting in their seats doing nothing. I though I was in church. Then when Funky Green Dogs came out which by the way I thought she was a great singer, they literally said no when she asked if she could sing another song. The crowd didn’t truly pick up until Stevie B came out and even then they were no comparison to an east coast crowd. The only thing the coliseum served was alcohol, you would think that would liven up some people. All I have to say is whether or not the singer or group was good, people should show some respect to these artists. It takes a lot to get up there. I thought it was because a lot of the artist were from the east coast but when their local artist, Jeannie, sang there still weren’t many people getting out of their chairs. Anyways I just wanted to report on the freestyle scene here in central Texas. And people wonder why most concerts are in New York, the east coast knows how to party.
Sorry for the long post and I hope I didn't offend anyone.
