I'm doing a research paper on same sex marriage and just wanted to make sure my facts are straight. Currently Vermont and Connecticut are the only two states that allow civil unions, right? Does Mass allow actual marriages? Any help is appreciated.

Mass allows full marriage.

Vt. and Conneticut have "civil unions".

Another aspect is called "Domestic Partnerships", which allows gay people to register in the state as "domestic partners" and gives them some of the benefits and protections of marriage.

NJ offers domestic partnerships. 😉

There are certain parts of Canada that allow gay marriage 🙂
