Question....
A few years ago, Cutting Records had a remix for Safire's "Let Me Be The One" that was done by Boris & Beck. The mix got circulated through promo copies and even turned up on Napster. It was a really hot house reworking of a great freestyle track -- that is an accomplishment in itself. Anyway, my question is why was there never a relase? I remember Cutting promoting an upcoming release -- they even took out trade ads in music magazines. But when I went to Vinylmania to look for it, the guy who worked there said there would be no release. Anyone have any info on this?

Good question, I've often wondered that myself...I remember a full page ad in DMA promoting Becca's "You Make Me Feel" and at the bottom it said "coming next month: Safire "Let Me Be The One"
It's a kickass track, too bad it never saw the light of day as a release

From what I've heard, Cutting scrapped releasing it because Safire was re-recording her own version of it for "Bringing Back The Groove."

THE MIX WAS RELEASED ON PROMO ONLY'S MAINSTREAM CLUB I BELIEVE

I will have to agree, that was a kick a** track....i heard the track last summer before the release of "bringing back the groove" that was one track that should have been release......"THINK ABOUT RELEASING IT", the mix is a mst have.....

Thanx for the info Ivan. And yes CEESIL, the remix came out on one of the Promo Only Mainstream Club CDs. I'm a fan of Bringing Back The Groove but Choco's Old School mix of "Let Me Be The One" doesn't come anywhere close to what Cutting had done with it. They should seriously think of releasing it now that she has retired. It would be a great way to bring a Safire track back into the clubs one last time!
