Safire & Cynthia question?

Back in da day, both Safire & Cynthia had been asked to be part of a freestyle female group.
What group was this?
Any group that already exists?
Or an entirely new group?
If so, what was the name?

If anyone can answer these "preguntas"- lol, I would really appreciate it.

I think it was BEFORE they hit it big as solo artists, so the name of the group is lost to history.

If I remember right, it was something they were working on before they both broke out as solo artists. Safire got successful first, and was able to help Cynthia to break into the business.

Becuase they had the history of working together, that was the basis of them recording "Can You Stand The Rain" together.
