Yesterday; MLB suspended and fined Texas Rangers pitcher; Kenny Rogers for shoving a cameraman and kicking their cameras. Rogers was mad at the local media for writing stories about him wanting to be traded and not want to pitch cettain games. Now I know that it was dumb to hit the camera man. Point taken. But for years mainly in modern media with Cable, and lots of radio and magazines and internet. Do you think that the media cross the line too much with opinions and invading others privacy? Or, do you think Athlethes/celebs overreact too much?
 
I think the media just wants the juicy stuff, no matter how they get it. Now some celebs do overreact and others dont.But hey if you are a celeb you are bound to be in the eyes of the world being t.v. internet etc. Now when they are being invaded in there own home, thats crossing the line!
 
Yes we do know if you become famouse, you have put yourself outthere. Point taken people like Terrel Owens, Paris Hilton does things that draws the media like flies, and Sean Penn and Barry Bonds likes the media to be their enemies. But I have to say, with Athletes and Celebs, the media wants more because of Cable tv with channels like E!, ESPN, the internet and SportsTalk Radio. They need something to fill time and big ratings. Example; in 1994/95 all TV stations gave non-stop coverage to The OJ Trial, but ignores other big news items like The Gov't. TV producers are thinking only about big ratings.
 
Yeah unfortunatley thats how it is! Dont get me wrong when it comes to gossip I think alot of us are all ears. but thats how it is and thats how it goes! nimodo!
 
If Rogers made that statement publicly, the news has the right to report it.

The deal was, he did not talk to the media in two weeks because of it. I have to admit, it was wrong for him to hit a camera who was doing their jobs! I'm glad Commishiner Selig laid the hammer on him. If he got of with 1 game and a small fine. The media would be in bad shape, Barry Bonds will have a ball dissing the media

thats a term which i invented. which basically means. this generation acts as if there was no time before it? and theyll be no time after it.

back in the days. people use to beat the shit of cammera men regularly in the 50's and 40's. they use to slap them around.

the problem is that people dont look at history these days when they judge anything?

they just listen to the media matrix and obey what ever conclusions its reached or it says.

if this generation looks or looked at history. it could prob fight off prob 95 percent of the bull shit the media

cooks up on a daily basis???
 
The thing is, it's sad, but true. The Media is a lot diffrent than it was 50 years ago. People did not know Actress Joan Crawford was an abusive mother and a drunk. You did not have stuff like E!, People Mag and Entertainment Tonight then. Now we all know what a jacka$$ Bobby Brown is! Thanks to his crappy Reality Show, and the many times he got arrested, and Papparatzzi, and internet reports. If you are famous, be a vegetable, because 1 little thing you do, it will be reported.

the media is the same as it was 50 years ago 100 years ago 150 years. ago. in fact if you look at history again history.

so people always had trouble with the media.

but this generation has given it power beyond its wildest dreams. its not different its

The deal is, I understand where Rogers was coming from, but beating up a cameraman is not the way to go. It justr just throws more fuel to the fire. If Rogers had a 1 start suspension, media peeps, wear a bullet proff vest, the players and celbs will be coming after you guys.
 
it comes with the territory period..you wanna be rich famous.. accept it.. count your millions and shut the fuq up deal with the media up your ass or retire..you could have much worse problems like us normal people... boo hoo poor me there talkin about me and takin pictures... then when you fall off and no one cares its boo hoo..nobody appreciates me i sooo talented actors..sports stars..writers..movie dirctors..politicians etc.. all of them the same whining
 
Good point, Looks at how The Indy Racing League is enjoying all the cameras focusing on female Driver Danica Patrick. She's not complaing and IRL is welcoming all the press they can get. They were a style of racing that has fell in the bottom of the media existance pool since the big popularity of NASCAR. They not turning that press down. Sh*t, NHL Players needs to be as friendly to the media as possible when they return to the ice. Right now none of you guys knew The NHL existed.LOL. The Pussycat Dolls welcomes lots of MTV press so they can get the word out about their new single. The Press needs Celebs/athletes and vice versa.

i dont think so i think we have to slowly start taking back our country to how it use to be in the 50's in some degree. meaning no body but american people get respect.

All of you are making good points. Lets realize, our idiot eerrrr President uses FOX News eerrrrrrr The Media to get his agenda out. The media has always been intrusive, but what I'm saying it looks bad nowdays because there is more of it. Lets be fair, Paris Hilton thanks the modern media, the modern media is why she is such a big deal(and partly her last name.).
 
look the diea behind what i post. is not to prooove any ever wrong. i'm not interested in that to be honest even though i could do it easily.

the diea of my posts is to bring up points or topics. that we can discuss or debate. and things that we seee

drastically wrong which we didnt see when were growing. up regardless of the reasons or changes.
