This Is JONPITO (lol, miss me?)

Just wanted to let everyone know that we (the d'tour records and film team: me, Gerry dodbout, sal and brian)just got into miami last night from orlando. In colaboration with Hiden image entertainment (orlando) and Detour Records and Film (miami).............
there was a BAD ASSS video shot for rockells latest release "tears"(Robbins Ent).

Not just that..it was shot for the Nu-freestyle/breaks version.(thank god not the planet rock driven side)..as her manager (former Tazmania super star,lol), joe Zangie wanted the video to be updated and show that rockell is on the cutting edge of whats happening in todays new sound for basically Freestyle and dance Music. (by the way..may i just add that Joe Zangie has No ego trips or attitude....unlike so many other managers and industry peeps i have run into. one of the nicest people i have met..(and one of the youngest).

As every one should know by now that "Tears" was writen and produced by Tony Moran, Guissepe d of hot head productions(using his REAL name)and andy panda.
For those of you who dont know who tony moran and andy panda are...they were the ones who basically are responsible for The original cover girls, nayobe and a long list of other pioneers.


Well, video came out awsome.
Just wanted to share that lil news with you guys.

i will keep club freestyle posted with other news and events and also continue to inform the Dance recording industry in detail
through another website , which will also start lounching events and hopefully colaborate with clubfreestyle.com at times in the future.

big shouts going out to gerry,brian,sal, neil, will, shawn n obbie joe, Rockell (congrats on your engagment), and everyone else present during this video production.

I actually Came down from Ct and was in Orlando Florida from Thursday until Sunday and Was @ The FME Magazine launch and I got to see Rockell and spoke briefly with Joe Zangie . He was Nice and I agree with you 100% No ego.

VIDEO IS DONE!!!!!

all i can say the standards for freestyle videos have been raised. the video was edited by a dj point of view and also includes footage of rockell dancing. It captures rockell dressed as many first saw her in her earlier shows with the hat,hoop earings (if those who remember comparing her to a similarity to kim sims (the chic who sang "to blind to see it").
Video includes footage of a parking lot party, lowriders and soupeup cars, people dancing and many artistic shots and eye tricks.

no, i can assure you, Rockell is not fat.And as far as we know, she isnt pregnant. She is engaged, but thats all.

but i do have one thing to say about Rockell:

working with jellyeban recordings and other groups and labels, i toured many cities and done many radio shows. many who also were the same circuit of clubs and stations rockell also toured. at many times doing the same shows. (thats where she would recall my face).

There is this thing that people have about Rockell. many walk on egg shells because they heard rumors from many people..that she could be dificult or at times spazes out. (if anyone recalls the many times she storms out of a room).

but im going to tell some of you, from the point of view of a personal rep from another FEMALE artist....

IT IS SO HARD BEING A FEMALE SINGER AND CLIMBING IN THIS INDUSTRY.
you always have to be strong, yet people call you a B*tch for doing so.

You get hit on, by the same people who are suposed to help you......ladies, you know its true.people start with flirts and see how far they can get. you dont give in, then they call you a bitch.
then they dont want to help you. somewhat the same situations with many of our ladies in dance music.

its not always about being dificult or ending up looking like your dificult. if promoters, radio stations, clubs or who ever it is that is suposed to help out an artist during a show,(especially IF ITS IN THE CONTRACT!!!)( LABELS TOO!!!), did thier specific requirments......there wouldnt be a need for a artist to get disgruntled. In most cases an artist would have someone with them at all times to "be a bitch to people instead of the artist turning into a bitch themselves". But artist dont always have that every minute of the day.

every woman in the industry has been through this sometime down the line. Im not refering to rockell in general, but all women.

i can sort of relate to the manager and artist realationship that Rockell and Joe now have. (in many ways). its not just a job, the artist becomes your best friend and you wind up doing averything you can for them. even if you feel your inbetween the artist and the labels interest. you want the best for both.

I do have my many opinions of people.

But i do see and undertand rockell as an artist and a woman in this industry. She is blunt. she will tell your in your face whats up.
i have respect for people like that. you have to be like that.

as far as other factors that I KNOW many people have seen. when an artist runs out of a room or something, its not cuz there is drama.
You dont know what is goingon in the personal life of an artist.

and let me tell you..no mater what sugar coated stories you will hear about rockell and a peachy world in interviews,write ups, bios etc,
she been through a bad time. For the same reason she is starting new in her professional life, including with a new managment with joe zangie that has been going on for 9 months already.

Some rank on why she has not come out with a new album since her last and continues to release already known tracks,but see thats not her foult.whats she going to do for fans, get into the studio and have to program the beats her damn self? honestly, "tears" on the album and the first version that was pushed to radio......thats shit drags like a performance from beky bealy .(ive been watching you...).
But at least all should now suport the freestyles /break mix.(dezrock i believe, i wasnt paying that much attention).

anyway,
She still showed up regardless on time for her video shoots (ok not always on time,but we are not all perfect), but she did have all this business in orlando the week of her video shoot, and put up with a bleeding ulcer. she would lay in a fetal position in an out of site room if the pain was a lil too strong. wait it out and continue with her shoot.

she was easy to work with and Down for whatever.

in those situations ,anyone else would of stayed home.


(i have personally worked with an artist, who was in the hosptal cuz she lost her baby in a miscarage, the same day we had a show for power 96 a couple of years back, D'luna (china doll). despite that she DEMANDED the limo be brought to the hospital. it picked her up, she did the power 96 show and went back to the hospital right after. smiling and bearing all the pain.)

so yes, there is a large respect growing for rockell now.
Artist who sacrafice are due to recognition.

When i went to orlando for the Video shoot, i not only went as a part of the detour team..i also went to capture a story.
There is no "REAL" rockell story outthere that wasnt filtered through a publicist.

i went up there with a choice to interview miss thang (lol) or not. i decided not to. instead i documented and obsereved her, joey and that publicist of thiers. (yeslike a scientist), you dont hang with what you are observing).

one day.....people will see my writen work and story on rockell. but right now that is not important.

what is important..is that everybody try to be a lil more understanding and easy on Rockell.

cut her some slack.

im not sayingthis to be nice or out of pity..as i am blunt that I am NO FRIEND of ROCKELL. But i do recognize another artist busting her ass and recognition is due.

I know and see that she is capable of so many things beyond the realms of what freestyle and dance music has momentarily.
And one day everyone will see that.
Even if it is many years from now and on another label.

But right now she is the only Freestyle artist that is most pop to current date on radio.She is also breaking new doors in many ways, withought even knowing it. Although she doesnt like to be Pigeon hold as a "freestyle" artist, its this Italian/Puertorecan
who needs everybodies suport at the moment.



back to fat.......theres nothing wrong with being fat or on the heavy side.. and also nothing wrong with having alil attitude.
thers something very sexy about a woman who is large and in charge.

(dont start with me, its not a fetish!!. its true!!
someone with confidence is very sexy!!).

Look at judy torres, and for over a decade nobody has said sh*t about "miss Chunky but funky". Well ,probably not now, cuz they are afraid they wont get air play on her radio show (i said it!).

ah, those leapord skin catsuit outfits with the big belts and pumps.
(and the big hair!). DIVA TO THE XTREME!!
i hope she IS NOT wearing that still.

(if some people read what i wrote, they would know the diference before going out and trying to sencor my ass.it aint going to work!).

well, here is my final wrap up on this whole "rockell video" thing.


last night was the preview release of the video.
There was an awsome reaction from those in atendance.
Rockell showed up with her soon to be hubby and saw the video for the first time. She melted!

after hoping around the rooms in desperation to get back to Miami from orlando,...(cmon people, to be away from SOUTH BEACH on momoraial day weekend and to have industry freinds and peeps among people like tracy young and peter rouhofer (*69) spinning at space 34 (club space)the same night, anyone would be jumping to go back home for the afterhours parties that would go on till 2pm the next morning/afternoon), i finally came around to talking with rockell. she was so happy about the video and couldnt of been more greatfull, epecially for a team to drive all the way Miami to do that.

She reads clubfreestyle and other sites and wants everyone to know that she thanks them for the love and suport.
She was extremely greatfull for people who displayed her as one of freestyles strongest women and loves the fact that people show that she overcomes any obsticles.

as for the rest of the night, it was just a good thing to see the faces of all those from the beggining Doubted (were rude and threw attitude) the video, Doubted the team and people who worked With (not for) the team.

It was another triumpth for our miami alliance of labels, companies and artist ; that include labels like sony, nextstep, jellybean recordings, detour records ,eqs recording studio, freestylemusic.com, and many many many other companies and organizations, who not only have love for the music and the industry, but also were the pioneers who began this whole freestyle thing and now back up the new generatation who will continue it tommorow.
