Hey Martini,

I spoke to Evan (he books the shows at DNA) he said he was going to call me next time he brings Ritchie to DNA, which I think will be in July. You know FreestyleRacer showed me that song a few months ago, and some people I know hated the song. But I knew it was going to be great!!. ANyway they played it at DNA this weekend, and that's all it took!!!....had two glasses of champagne and three shots of tequila rosas and I was OOFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF!!!...lolol

"If I could relive my life, I know what I would change,
All the times I made you cry, all my thoughts that caused you pain.
I know I'm sorry's not big enough , to tell you wrong I feel
but I don't know where to start, to live my life without you"

Have a guy sing that to you, and see if your knees won't fold out right under neath you!!!!!!!!!!..lol

DJ-PRODUCER John Kano was having problems with his girlfriend, so he wrote her a song. He had just finished singing it into her answering machine when DJ-producer Eddie Baez came into the Bellmore studio with some guy who gave him a ride.

Baez introduced the driver as Richard Luzzi, a recent Marymount College graduate who wanted to be a singer, and asked him to sing. Luzzi obliged, and Kano was stunned.

"He sounded just like the guy from Creed, and Creed was my girl's favorite band," Kano said. "I borrowed him for a few minutes and showed him how the song went. He sang the vocal over the keyboard lines, and that was it. We took it to Eddie, who loved it. It was done within seven hours. It was magic." The song was "Without You," a house-music anthem, with Luzzi's rockish vocal, that recently hit No. 1 on WLIR/92.7 FM and has been added to 30 stations around the country. On that January night, Baez and Luzzi became Digital Allies.

"Without You" is one of those songs that people either love or hate when they hear it, and many record labels reacted the same way. The group settled with the indie label X-Treme Records because they wanted the song to come out as soon as possible.

With the trend of house-music hits such as Daft Punk's "One More Time" and Modjo's "Lady" sung by men instead of the usual big-voiced diva, timing seemed right for Digital Allies.

"It's so hard to believe," said Luzzi, of Massapequa (WOO-HOO!!). "I thought I would have to pay my dues. This is such an amazing way to start in the music business." Of course, Baez is no newcomer, having worked on No. 1 dance songs such as Jocelyn Enriquez's "A Little Bit of Ecstasy" and Toni Braxton's "I Don't Want To," as well as spinning in New York's hottest clubs. Kano's no novice either, having remixed hits for everyone from Shania Twain to Danny Tenaglia.

However, Baez said the idea of performing live as a band is something new and exciting.

"I'm more nervous playing the keyboards than DJing," Baez said. "I've never really played keyboards for people before. It's something that I just do by myself in the studio, so I've really been practicing." Digital Allies has a follow-up single, also written by Kano, tentatively called "Someone," for release when "Without You" finishes its run. The group is sorting through several major-label offers to record a full album, said Baez, who continues to DJ around the region and will release his second compilation next month.

Luzzi said he is still getting used to the new success.

"I'm still in this state of awe every time I hear the song on the radio," he said. "The butterflies get me every time."

oh I iwll Martini. This is the second time that I miss his performance!! and it's driving me up the wall!!. I hope he's as good looking as he sounds!!..lol

yes, i do speak to the artists very often.......and i try to stop any rumors that occur. if i bump inot him in my neighborhood of Massapequa or the studio, ill ask him personally.

im sorry if we are rubbing the wrong way,XBklynNyCGyrlX......it was all in fun. i meant no harm by the goofy comments i made towards you. but i do take that comment in an offensive manner.

XBklynNyCGyrlX , i tried writng you a PM but your box was full. I mean no offense when i spoke to you. im always joking (98% of the time!) and i was simply fooling around with you. I dont know squat about the group, until i read a recent article in which they spoke of a tale that totally differed from the one you presented to me.
i dont know why they said one thing at a concert then said something else to a reporter. maybe he felt the club kids wnated to hear something funny, and he wasnt serious about the song (can you blame him.....listen to the crap that is out today and you will undersatnd why he had to lie about the truth!)
I do have a couple of friends that do know Richie and went to high school with him. i will get to the bottom of it, though. so, please, forgive me if i seemed very obnoxious and rude. I am not in the best mood! 🙁
