I have to say that I admire your courage Ginof4life. One posting from hundreds that truly expressed my feeling about these new songs.

How can you improve a legends voice? How can you can you improve the style of someone as original as the God of Freestyle himself Johnny O? How can you enhance an artist's voice who's work has stunned not only Freestyle fans, but even people that don't listen to our music? How can you possibly change the beats of Freestyle affiliated to Johnny O's great hits like Highways of Love, I wanna make love to you, I promise, Runnaway Love....................

The answer is YOU CAN'T. Johnny I have all the respect for you in the world and know you as by faaaaaaaaaaaaar the best freestyle singer of all time, but with all due respect to you, our music, and your loyal fans I have to say that I was quite disappointed to hear some computer, rather than your beautiful voice singing these songs.

I still wish nothing but the best as you have been, and always will be the only singer that makes me go insane. If I have to wait another 50 years to hear another "Freesyle" song from you, it'll be worth it.

Freestyle Freek sorry and with all do respect, 1 hit...Hello are you out of your mind!😱 ....Highways of Love, Fantasy Girl, Memories, Dream boy/Dream Girl, We Can't Go On This Way, Run Away Love, those were all on the radio and pump it hard and did great. So I don't know where you coming from and be on that he had songs like Don't ever want to loose your love, Don't Go Away, I Wanna Make love to you, Im so Into You, I'm gonna Make You Mine, I Love You, and many others that caught and made the scene. So a legend he is and will always be. As for the tracks why is that everybody expect the 80's to still be around? I can't understand it lets see what the album has and then say something.With TKA was the same thing we can't expect them to do the samething over and over. Do we? :crap

Everyone is loving the songs, Diana, New version & Settle Down, and everybody is asking is that the only Freestyle in the album and the truth is noooo!!! You got to here the hottest song called "I'm so in love" it is amazing! That song I heard from many people saying that is the hottest ever from johnnyO regarding Freestyle! And I will be preforming that song on stage!!! to debut it! Oh the Samples are not finished there are 14 singles on this LP (Album). My phone is off the hook, with the hype behind Friday Night, Call me on the Phone and Take me through the night!!! And these are people that don't even care for freestyle and they are loving my New Songs. Cross over time, thank you to God, my family and ZYX Records my producers Tommy and Ismail Dave and Mabu...and to everyone in Clubfreestyle, Jack G, Kenny, Azya, Sexyangel, Mario, Rolndo, Lou lou, FreestyleMom, Mr. Freestyle and everyone all my fans and friends in the industry for all your support. It is going to be amazing career comeback! To the Grammies we go!

Whoa you!!! Where do you come off especially as a newcomer telling any artist nice enough to stop by here and talk to us that he's desperate. Are you always that much of a social clod?

I think I speak for many of the peeps on these sites when I say that the artists taking the time to talk directly to us instead of label promo department means a great deal so stuff a sock in it!!!

I enjoy reading all opinions and views on these sites negative and positive but when you start taking those kinda shots YOU ARE OUT OF LINE!!! Step back and check yourself at the door or at least before you hit the add post button........

So okay you think the euro sound won't work in the US. Your point is taken so then be more constructive than (edited).... what would you suggest to make the new songs competitive at commercial radio, profitable for the label so they continue to make records with any kind of freestyle in it, satisfy your requirements, make new fans and keep the "old" skool fanbase intact?

alright, i guess a pet peeve of mine, when people start calling music that is not freestyle -> freestyle. i got to set things straight-

The songs are freestyle. Granted it has more of a "dance" feel, but thats because Johnny is taking freestyle forward in a new direction.

oh hell no! i hate when people call other types of dance music freestyle. he is not taking freestyle in a new direction, he is using another "style" of dance music, mostly euro and disco house. i have to break it down for you.
1. "Diana"- i'll give into this as being freestyle, but just barely. it is freestyle with a dated euro sound on top of it.
2. "Settle Down" this can be considered freestyle. it kinda has that Underdog Project sound to it though.
3. "Friday Night" disco house
4. "Take Me Through The Night" euro/disco house
5. "Call Me On The Phone" disco house

As for the tracks why is that everybody expect the 80's to still be around?

disco house is NOT freestyle for the new millenium. you can call it freestyle if it is but please don't call it freestyle when it can easily be classified as something else- disco house (excluding the songs i mentioned). if you want a new sound, try the sounds of Rosalinda, Kenny Freestyle, Sharyn Maceren, Angelina. THAT is new freestyle, you can't classify it any other way. however songs 3,4,5, can easily be put into the disco house category, more euro on the 4th song. and you say should we have the 80's stay around? well NO! like i said i like the latest from artists like Kenny Freestyle, Sharyn Maceren, and others. they have a progressive, new (not 80's) freestyle sound. yet on Johnny O's new songs you can hear a dated euro sound on track 4. that is a sound from the early 90's maybe.

the truth is yes all of it is not freestyle and it has a euro beat but the question is do u like it. the next truth is johnny o is being bombarded by the industry cause of how good the material is. and it will shock the world there is more freestyle to come and johnny will never leave freestyle.

good question. i'll say it song by song.
1. "Diana"- don't like it. a remake of a song that sounded better as an original. don't see a remake of a freestyle song getting much if any airplay
2. "Settle Down"- absolutely love it. i think it has potential for radio airplay.
3. "Friday Night"- ok song. the best of his disco house songs for sure. but lacks that hit potential
4. "Take Me Through The Night"- don't like it much. has a dated euro sound to it. chorus is so-so.
5. "Call Me On The Phone"- i actually like the beginning with the piano. but that's where i stop liking it, the chorus is what really hurts this song bad.

I call it Freestyle Dance - its what it is.

well i have some experience in music and dance, having worked in radio in Florida and New York, and currently spending some time in California. so i too know a little about music, and freestyle since those 3 states have played more freestyle and had more freestyle come from them than anywhere else.
jack calls it freestyle dance. well the truth is freestyle is a "branch" of dance music. if you want to call his entire CD freestyle/dance, that i won't argue with, because their is some freestyle in the CD. i think the best way to describe it would be "dance", or "freestyle, disco house, euro" so you don't leave out that music.
as for Johnny O calling it freestyle, i hope he is talking about the freestyle songs that he has on there.
so in summary, i think people should watch what they call freestyle. about my opinion on his music, minus "Settle Down", it is just so-so. but i will wait until i hear the rest of his songs before making final judgement on his CD because i hear there is more freestyle on it, and it might only take 2 or 3 more songs with the quality as "Settle Down" to make it a CD i would call good and be interested in buying.
oh yeah i posted my last post before i was finished accidently so i have edited it and added on to it.

OK HERE I GO NOT TO LONG AGO I POSTED A THREAD UP SHOUTING OUT THE ARTIST THE FANS THAT COME THROUGH DJ'S PRODUCERS, MANAGERS ETC. SO I HAD TO COME IN HERE AND POST SOMETHING UP FOR ON JOHNNY O IS FREESTYLE. HE WAS AWAY FOR AWHILE AND EVEN SO HIS MUSIC STOOD AS HE AS AN ARTIST REMAINED AN ARTIST IN OUR HEARTS AND IN OUR MEMORYS AND NOW GUESS WHAT HE'S BAAAAAAACCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK. AS I SAID IN MY PREVIOUS THREAD "SPECIAL SHOUT OUT" WE AS FANS NEED TO SUPPOORT THE ARTIST, AND WHAT GETS ME IS THAT PEOPLE COMPLAIN ABOUT ARTIST NOT PUTTING OUT ANY FREESTYLE NOT DOING THIS NOT DOING THAT. But let me clear something? JackG and Clubgirl and others are right including you Cafreestyler? And that is the songs that are freestyle are really Freestyle songs...whether New School or Old School feels. But the other songs on my Album are Dance or Dance/Pop not Freestyle!
To keep this market (FREESTYLE) alive, I'm (JOHNNYO) going to break big in Dance and or Dance/Pop. In that way many new fans who buy my CD because of the Dance only...will be introduced to Freestyle and if all goes well more and more fans will start lovin Freestyle, that is my formula for helping a music that I love and a people who has been there for me! But I also love Dance and Dance/Pop that is why we choose these formats.

Cafreestyler..boy do I have a song for you...it is off the chain, incredible Freestyle song Shaheen is asking about it and the name of that song is "Im so in Love" it is my Jet plane! Once that song starts there is no stoppin it, Cafreestyler, Shaheen and all my Freestyle Freaks are going to love this song "I'm so in Love"...it's about the first kiss! There are more songs still yet to come whether they are going to be samples is up to ZYX Records because they know what they are doing, and that is Fantastic Promotions. i think you put that well. my main complaint was how people here in the past have called other types of dance music freestyle. like when people were calling some of tka's new music new freestyle when they were actually house/disco house. i don't think that its good for freestyle when people start calling all kinds of music freestyle, because then it will really essentially disappear. if we are to progress, then we need to progress with the freestyle sound, not just take something like disco house and say "there freestyle has just progessed ". i'm glad you agree that your album has other types of dance, i even believe you mentioned that in your much earlier posts about the upcoming album, even before the samples were up. i think its ok you have other types of dance music on there, hopefully like you said those songs will get big as well as the freestyle. i can't wait to hear the other freestyle song you are talking about.
finally, i have to say what a class act you are. coming on here with the fans, listening to the comments and not lashing out at anyone, and putting out your music with so much positivity. good luck, you deserve the best.

I have already told you Johnny, I have no problem with that, as long as you don't forget about your die hard loyal freestyle fans out there that will always remember you by the legendary classic freestyle hits you have given us by giving us 1 or 2 classic hits. In which you say you have done that with "I'm so in Love".🙂
