Retro-India (Palladium 1990)

I was going through some boxes at my parents' house this past weekend and came upon a box of cassette tapes that I recorded from the radio from 1990- 1995 and rediscovered, in a sense, my young years. My dad was in the military and we were stationed in Italy from 1988-1991. In 1990, we returned home to the Bronx to visit during the month of August and I remember recording Hot 97 and a few other radio stations. However, one night I must have set the tape recorder on "record" and it was on Hot 97 and it was pretty late. I was 13 years old at the time. Okay, so what I recorded, unintentionally, was India, live at the Palladium, with Glenn Friscia, singing "Right From The Start" and "Lover Who Rocks You All Night". !@#$%^& amazing tape!! This shit is classic and I'm about to dub it onto another tape so that I have a back-up 'cuz something like this is truly rare, let alone hard to come by, and I will never get the chance to hear something like this ever again. India's voice sounds so great, as always. Anyhow, I have some great live-mixes from Emerald City, Palladium, etc. and some interesting Freestyle tracks that you hardly hear anymore. Anyone else have any "cool" things such as my casette collection?

i was always a huge freestyle freak,even was i mad young so i would record all the radio commercials that mentioned upcoming shows, interviews, mixes and live performances.
i got so many live shows and interviews with a lot of miami and NY acts like stevie b,tka,tony moran,andy panda,sa-fire,company b,trinere,shana,promise circle,timmy t,india,mercy merci,tolga,will to power,sweet sensation,noel,edmond,soave,cynthia,
reinaldo,pajama party, and so many more... it's a great rare collection that i would never get rid of.

Marlon- That's awesome bro. You have a nice collection there. One day we'll be able to record all these cassette tapes onto CD's. I'm sure you can do that now. But, I'll never get rid my collection. I'll be 45 years old and I'm sure they'll be stored somewhere, but always in close reach. Damn, scary thought. I only have 19 more years to go!

Yo...you have to copy that on CD! A CD will not deteriorate like a cassette. That way you save it without worries. 😉

Oh my Gosh!! I really feel old now! I remember being at that show and sneaking in.. I remember what I was even wearing and drinking.

I have plenty of tapes from Frankie Bones when he spun at the Electric Warehouse and tapes of Glen Friscia up the wazzoooooo..

My prized posessions are my mixes of Freddy Bastone spinning at Emerald City and Palladium as well..
