Heres a question that actually been bothering me for a while...

Are Kathy Phillips, Alexia Phillips and Chris Phillips related?

tran man,
the Maranos are family Adam and Stefanie are brother and sister...

oh another thing...
Chris, Alexia and Adam did Next Generation album

thats according to my buddy bassy... 😉

stefanie marano? didnt know about her

maybe the philips could be the jacksons of freestyle! 😱

you know...
Marano and the Phillips did the album Next Generation it was like in '94

hee hee hee... Marano still wears his hat backwards now on his greatest hits 2002 as he did in '94...

Phillips need a few more members like 5 to be the jacksons ( 5 jackson brothers and two sisters )...

:read

Thanks all yeah I figured there was some sort of family relation there I just didnt know wut.

Everyone is correct...

But there is a 4th Phillips family member that has done Freestyle as well. Gus (Chris & Alexia's father), has helped co-write and produce music for his children and Chris' other productions on Odeon Records.

BTW - Gus is very proud of his children and he is one hell of a nice guy if you ever get the opportunity to speak with him!

Adam's sister's name is Stephanie Marano, not Stefanie.

The Marano/Phillips concept was almost one of the best in Freestyle: it should have been, and was allegedly supposed to be the brother/sister Philly Freestyle team of Adam & Stephanie Marano from the USA joining forces with the brother/sister Toronto Freestyle team of Chris and Alexia Phillips from Canada. But for some reason, Stephanie Marano never made the trip, or the album.

Aside from the Maranos and the Phillips, there have been other Freestyle families.

Steve “Mr. Miami” O’Neill, and his brothers Mike & Chris are head of the Gecko Records family.

Philly Freestyle vocal group DTU was made up of cousins Anthony Ponzio, Anbthony Santosusso, and Johnny Genovese.

There have been other siblings, cousins, and even marriages in Freestyle.

And what about producers Mickey & Tony Garcia? Weird, huh?

And f.y.i.: The Jackson family has 6 brothers, not 5, and 3 sisters, not 2!
Tito, Marlon, Jermaine, Randy, Michael and Jackie.
Rebbie, LaToya, and Janet.

Plus, to continue in the Jackson family music history, Tito’s sons formed the pop R&B group 3T.

The Beach Boys were made up of brothers Brian, Denis, and Carl Wilson, along with cousin Mike Love, and family friend Al Jardine.

Now apart from Love’s Beach Boys, and Brian Wilson’s solo career, Jardine continues the Beach Boys "family" by performing non stop accompanied by his two sons, and Brian Wilson’s two daughters of Wilson Phillips fame.

Wow did they all live in Philadelphia too?
Gus Phillips wrote? Did he sing as well?

Beach Boys and Jacksons LOL. Which Jackson wasn't part of the 5? I knew there was another sister and brother that didn't sing. Tran man look what u started 🙂 Thanks Jason for the info 🙂

Angel Mena?

I'm not sure if Gus provided any vocals. I'll check some info-out when I get home from the Odeon CDs and let you know.

It looks like we have forgotten my favorite current producers: THE SANTANA TWINS...Other Freestyle siblings include: Face (the original girls that sang FOREVER YOURS and HAPPY DAYS) and The Rios Sisters.

Re: Philly Freestyle artists who "kept it in the family", lol...DuLaio Twins and Ton-De-Jon...

I'm not 100% sure on this but isn't John (Milo) Pro from SF Spanish Fly the uncle of Christina Marie...I read this somewhere...but I forgot where I saw this info...

Hey this thread is pretty informative!

Rhoq - I didn't know Gus provided some of the writing to the freestyle tracks in the Planet Freestyle days! Thanks for info!

I loved the Marano/Phillips concept - that was a great Cd. My fave track on that was "How could you love me" .

oh yeah - I noticed that Adam wears his Viper hat backwards. LOL! Must be a trademark of his.
