Does any one know of a song which had been offered to a freestyle artist, who then rejected it and that same song later went on to be successful in another genre?

Also were there any songs that were recorded but did not for what ever reason make it to the finished album?

Ummm I do k now that Elissa wirtes a lot of music for different artists usually newer artists and the song/s she wrote becomes a big hit for example she wrote Dimi's Only One. Thats all I can think of rite now.

I read in a freestyle cd that Brenda K. Starr rejected "Over & Over". Pajama Party recorded their version and had some success with it.

As far as your second question, I don't know much about freestyle artists, but in other genres all artists have tracks that don't make it to the album. These tracks are saved, may appear on the next album or given to a soundtrack or compilation. This is why when an artist passes away, there is still more material that can be released.

Well on the other genres note its kinda the opposite of wut ur asking but...Joee had a lot of success with his remake of Died In Your Arms and then there was DJ Sammy/Eyra Gail with Heaven. I think there are more examples of freestyle artists having more success with remakes of songs from other genres than wut u were asking. I could and probably am wrong though...

Joee wrote and produced but did not record "Holdin on forever" as he was focusing on the pop phase his "truth" album was geared for at the time. It was recorded by a female vocalist they later branded as "Inner Soul" on Vik/BMG and ended up being a huge eurodance and freestyle hit in Canada back 1998.

Brenda didnt "reject" over and over. she recorded it anyway. I guess what you meant to say was that she didnt want that track to be one of her singles. but i do gotta admit, eventhough she refuse to score with it, its way better than pajama parties version.
