All I have ever loved since 1988 was Freestyle. I swear if I was rich I would buy myself a record label and release quality Freestyle everywhere whether mainstream accepted it or not. I have spoken to so many people who have never heard of Freestyle, but when they hear some quality Freestyle they are curious why they don't hear the same music ever on the radio. Freestyle is unique, but not so radically different. I don't have much, but I would personally donate my own money to help an artist I believed in or to help an album get released and I would not expect a single cent back!

RECORD STORES AIN'T WHAT THEY USED TO BE.
ONE OF THE GREATEST JOYS IN LIFE HAS BEEN ROOTING THROUGH INDEPENDENT RECORD STORES FOR THE NEWEST RELEASES---AND THE PEARLS IN THE CRATES AND/OR BINS. THE PEOPLE WHO CHOOSE TO WORK IN THOSE STORES ALWAYS SEEM TO BE THERE BECAUSE THEY LOVE MUSIC AND NEED TO BE AROUND IT. MANY OF THEM BECAME MY FRIENDS , AND THEY'D OFTEN HAVE GREAT RECOMMENDATIONS.
SADLY, THESE STORES ARE QUICKLY DEPARTING OUR LANDSCAPE AND THE PEOPLE WHO WORK THERE ARE DISAPPEARING FROM OUR LIVES.
WE ARE LEFT WITH AN EMPTINESS AND ONE COULD ONLY UNDERSTAND IF THEY LOGGED THE COUNTLESS HOURS IN THESE STORES SEARCHING THE SLUDGE FOR THAT ONE RECORD.

AND NOW,
THE BIG 5 IS ABOUT TO BECOME THE BIG 4 WHEN THE MERGER OF BMG(RCA, ARISTA, AND OTHERS) AND SONY MUSIC(COLUMBIA , EPIC , THE LEGACY REISSUE ARM AND ASSORTED BOUTIQUE IMPRINTS) BECOMES FINAL. MORE JOBS WILL BE LOST , FEWER ACTS SIGNED , MORE HARD TO FIND RECORDS , AND MORE PEOPLE MOVING ON WHO BECAME FRIENDS.

THE CHOICE FOR AN ARTISTS AND FAN KEEP DWINDLING. THE RECORD BIZZ HAS NO CLUE HOW TO DEAL WITH SHRINKING SALES. PAYPER DOWNLOAD IS THE PRESENT ANSWER AND ANGLE.

SO TO PARAPHRASE WHAT THE ROLLING STONES SAID:
"WHAT CAN AN ALBUM FAN DO? "
ANSWER???
GO TO LIVE SHOWS AND PICK UP CD'S DIRECTLY FROM THE ARTISTS!
IN OTHER WORDS: "SUPPORT YOUR ARTISTS"

PERSONALLY, I MISS THE VAGUELY MUSTY FEEL OF AN OLD RECORD STORE. I MISS THE STAFF WHO GOT TO KNOW YOUR TASTES AND WOULD KNOWINGLY RECOMMEND TITLES UP YOUR ALLEY. I MISS THEM, BUT THEY'RE NOT COMING BACK.

I have not replied for 3 reasons..
A) I am on Vacation.
B) I find this thread to be a stab in the back to me and all CF members.
c) I am waiting for it to develop more to see if the original poster is a suporter of CF or is not a CF supporter.

I happened to this this thread while surfing CF on my Cell phone
at http://wap.clubfreestyle.com and thought I would pop in for
a second to Thank the CF members for holding it down and Representing!

CF is the highest rated and highest trafficed freestyle site that you will ever find.
We get more POSITIVE activity here Daily then you will find in a week anywhere else.
WHY? Because we keep the respect level high for one another and
we do the Most for the Genre.
CF is home to the highest quality members you will find...ANYWHERE.
That is why I dedicated my resources to them..and to Freestyle Artists
that respect what we provide.
I hope that answers the posters question. I also hope the poster will
add to our cause instead of adding negative comments.

In the time I've spent on CF, I've seen a number of artists come and go, leaving comments on the boards that I've held my tongue on, but rolled my eyes at.

The purpose of this site is to give support to the entire freestyle community, from the aritists, to the clubs, to the fans.

Since I've joined cf, I've met tons of freestyle fans. At the SHOWS that are being put on. That means that cf was able to get people to go to the shows.

I've seen these people bring cds to shows for autographs, which means that cf is able to promote new music, and have it relate to sales.

I've heard these members on the air with Judy, requesting freestyle, which means cf is helping get rotation to freestyle songs.

Members have talked about the dvd sets they've purchased, which means more money is being spent on freestyle.

The fans are getting to meet the artists, which is something they've wanted to do.

Cf helpped me build my own website, and from that, my own internet radio station (which has 5 of your songs on rotation). I've received emails from people in Europe, Canada, and all over the US telling me how much they love the memories and new material they hear from me. Between my site, my station, and my internet connection, I spend $100.00 a month to support freestyle. (That does not included money spent on shows, cds, dvds) May not seem like much to you, but to me, it is.

As for drama, every site has drama and arguements. Life is drama and arguements. It's how you deal with it that marks you as an adult. So, have you gone to other sites (freestyle or not) to call them out on it, or is cf just the lucky one?

Not feeling the love? That's too bad, because I'm sure all the members here love you and your music.

However, most of my love now goes to Nyasia, Cynthia, Ayna, Willie Valentin, Synthia Figueroa, Freeze, Nu-Image, Malyssa, Christine Marie, Latin Nation, Dana Rayne, Ashley, Manny, Elissa, M:G, Jennifer Glass, Coro, Lisette Melendez and the other artists who are trying to bring us new freestyle.

Maybe when you hit us with new stuff, you'll feel the love too.
 
Welcome to CF George. Everyone here bascially answered the question. I will say for myself that I found a place I can call home. Somewhere Where I can discuss my favorite music. I've met great people hhere some who I wanted to slap at one time or another j/k. But really we all are cool. those who weren't well they've gone bye bye. I've met Nayasia whom I might say is the most down to earth person in da world. Thank ya girl!

I think some of us might be overeacting and being a liL to sensitive to gl's comments.Most freestyle sites are full of gossip and negative comments.Isn't there a gossip column on here??I thought so.However,all freestyle sites are more than just that.These freestyle sites have given us a place to talk about our music,share memories and tried our hardest to get this back on radio or club play.At times it seems like a lost cause but we never surrender.Always believing that the next year will be better like battered ny mets fans believing their team will win the world series soon (yea right).Fact of the matter is that we are here and we won't give up.But don't worry....I still see you as the Freestyle King,who might be having a bad day.And no matter what, at least you never have charged $20.00 for an authograph like other artists 🙂
