this made me think of something to ask mickey.
hey mickey, how come mm 12"s were pressed with a much lower/quieter sound level compared to other records?
 
beatsfromdapast, That happend when theres to much music and theres lots of bass on the side of that 12inch. They have to lower the db at mastering.

I like hearing them too!

for instance, i just recently found out why my copy of TRILOGY'S "RED HOT" sounds so horrible! I was glad it just wasnt my copy. It was made that way.
 
That song was over produced.. I know that song very well. It was RED HOT!!! To hot to listen to.. But it got over. That's all that counts:yeey
