Put the lid down please!!!

I heard that you should put the toilet lid down before you flush the toilet because all of the germs and bacteria actually spray out when you flush . So basically your toothbrush could be on the other side of the bathroom and still be sprayed with all the toilet germs. Has anyone else heard this?

Oh yeah, there was a story on that on the news.

When you flush, all the bacteria in the toilet goes spewing into the air, and can get on the sink, hairbrush, tooth brush, mouthwash bottle....pretty much everywhere.

Even closing the lid doesn't completely stop it, but it lowers the levels dramatically.
