Friday night classic joint right here!

At a time when house parties were the shit! Friday's & Saturday's- there was always something going on- a Sweet Sixteen, Quinceniera, a birthday, or just a regular house party! This is the shit, along with the classic Hip-Hop and Freestyle tracks, that was hot. The fond memories of the late 80's and early 90's. When the parents weren't looking, you were grinding with that chick that you've been eyeing all night. This is the shit that I remember.

Let's take it back -and give props- to the peeps that started it all. Before there was Don Omar, Daddy Yankee, and Tego, there was Vico C, Lisa M, Rude Girl, and El General. The originators. The pioneers. The real shit.

Before there was Reggaeton, there was Reggae en Espanol!

"Teves Buena", baby.

Oh, and I got them all! The other day I was jamming to Lisa M's "Everybody Dancing Now." And El General is great. I remember when I was in college in Richmond, we were listening to his first lp, to "Son Bow" and that damn bird starts cawing, and none of us realized it was in the song, and we were all looking out the window for this stupid bird. Seen him on lots of interviews on shows like Sabado Gigante and he does alot of charity work for kids.

"Everybody Dancing Now"- LOL....wow. Remember "Muevelo"- El General. That was another good one (que sabroso). 🙂

I've got some of his performances taped off of some of the premios. He is such a great performer. Gets everyone moving. I seem to remember lots of peeps trying to copy him, but he's unico. What sucks is a few of his cd's and some India salsa cd's my ex gave away, and the a$$ taped over a bunch of my freestyle cds.

I still have the cassette sngle of that!

That was the shit back in the day!

I have the El General greatest hits cd...but I havent listened to it in a while, brings back soo many memories
