"Protect My Heart" by KELIS

On Kelis' new album that includes "Milkshake", she has a very classic Freestyle/R&B jam titled "Protect My Heart"- (#7 on da CD).
It even has the classic "cymbal-edits" in the beat, along with the horn-licks.
I also thought that Pharrel Williams' lil' shout-out to Puerto Rico at the beginning of the song was kool.🙂
(For those that dont know, her father is Black, & her mother is half Puerto Rican).

Not completely a "Freestyle song", but definately has the elements, & definately worth a listen!
Also, if u like that oldskool Run DMC/ Beastie Boys flava, checkout "Keep It Down" (#4).🙂
& Im sure Many of u have already heard "Finest Dreams" (Richard-X feat: Kelis). Hott Jam!

Im listenin' to "Protect My Heart" right now. Her album has elements of Oldskool hip-hop, Freestyle, & Electroclash.

2 songs "Millionaire" & "In Public" (feat Nas) - a very dirty song,
kinda sound like Peaches/Latintek/Prince type jamz.

If u don have this album, -GO GET IT!

Its about time she started blowin' up, cuz she's been around for years! I still got her 1st single "Caught Out There (I Hate You So Much Right Now!)" - hot song!

She's also the guest vocalist on Foxy Brown's "Candy" -

& On Busta Rhymes "What It Is" -
("Busta, what-it-is-right-now")

She's on many other songs as well.
Loved her from da beginning, & im just glad she's "out there" now.🙂
