Ok... I know this is gonna start some drama and contraversy but uh....let's see who knows the answer to this.

Who is the first freestyle artist to use the Planet Rock beat on a track?

I don't wanna hear about Kraftwerk, Afrika Bambaataa, or Planet Patrol either....remember, :director FREESTYLE.

:biggrin

"now & forever" by nyasia (forgot the name of the mix on the 12' but i know its by dj laz)?? thats my guess since i heard it on power 96 in miami before all the other planet rock tracks......

I will go one step further and say the 'Planet Rock' sample was 'made' by Tony Garcia in the use of Take me in your arms.

It was used before that but as soon as that joint came out, it was in EVERYTHING!

It was mine actually..lol Now & Forever was already a number one hit in Brazil when we went there in 91 and that is when Tony Garcia actually gave the record for the first time to the DJ at the radio station there, Now & Forever was alreay out. ALot of peeps may think it was Lil Suzy because that was the mix heard here, My planet rock mix was mostly played in Florida. But other "Expert" might disagree..lololol, only Tony and Mickey will ever know right? 😉

sorry mibadboy I am so sorry, i didn't see that.. I will have it sent to you too. where too?

but only to you too, the album is coming out with the old music on it..😉

Sorry folks, I'm not entirely convinced that the Florida Mix of "Now & Forever" by Nyasia contains an actual loop from "Planet Rock". It does, however sample the Jive Rhythm Trax "122 BPM" with a beat programmed on top of that during the break(s) that sounds very similar to "Planet Rock". 😉

well there you go..lolol let's see what others say 🙂

Good ear Rhoq. It uses the Jive 122 loop mainly but it does also use the Planet Rock loop. The Jive 122 beat is only used during the verses.

Yes, but that "Planet Rock" loop you are hearing doesn't sound like an actual sample to me, but an admirable recreation (which I happen to like better). Take a really deep listen to track and you'll hear it. It's not "Planet Rock".
