In part three of song battles, I picked a popular Freestyle sung by two known Freestyle artists Jossette & Rockell, which version was your favorite, POLL runs for 5 days.

I VOTED J! I think she had a sweeter touch to the song. Frankie what was battle 1 & 2?

Rockell's version is far superior and radio friendly in the instrumentation and overall production; let alone the major label retail distribution through Robbins/BMG. "In a dream" by Rockell went to #1 on the National Singles chart in Canada. It was more successful than in any other county in the world.

Even though "Bassbump" is correct that the overall production of "Rockell's" version is tighter, I agree with "Latin Nation, Alex" that Jossette has a sweeter touch to the song. So my vote goes to Jossette. Go Jossette it's your birthday, your birthday. LOL

What's the point? You didn't even bother to include the ORIGINAL version of "In A Dream" by Emotion In Motion which is far superior to the remake by Joesette and that version's sound-alike by Rockell. 😉

rockell's vocals were better! however j's seemed a bit more fun! ya know what i mean?

Are you sure it was Emotion In Motion????Maybe they did do the song, but it was never released commercially, I can always ask Randy.Jossette did release the maxi-single on Galaxy first, it did make it pretty close to the Top 100 on the charts, than Rockell released the maxi-single on Robbins, which hit the Top 100's.

yeah EMOTION N MOTION did it 1st but no one really heard it except a few bay area clubs. when the clubs played it ..it was a instant hit...and Randy had Josette sing it...If I remember correctly Randy told me The EMOTION N MOTION was straight up Demo status on a tape casette...He had no idea of the magnatude that song would bring.I dont know about it being "superior" to josettes . i vaugely remember him telling me this story...So i may be wrong on a few details. RANDY whare u at??

Josette gets my vote ....it was the 1st and only version i along with the entire west coast heard untill like what, 2 years later when Rockell did it....Once NY Heard it ..they went ga ga over it and Rockell became Rockell. at least thats how i remember it going down..Its been so long.

I voted for Rockell...her track and voice was very clear..It may sound a bit commercial to some fans and that is understandable..I just felt like Rockells version was more professional and in my car it was thumpin..

I love josettes version as well..Kind of like a emery torres tearshed like the vocals were everywhere but it had that type of vibe where you know it wasnt the best quality wise but it still tugged at your heart and can jam to it,..

I'm goin with Rockell! Every single of the 10000 remixes of her version are off tha hook! 😉

Rock (L) takes my vote. Plus in the words of PABLO FRANCISCO, the comic/R&B singer... "The girl is fine-a-ineee!!"

:dpeace

I voted for Rockell...it was the first version I heard plus it's the one I partied to at the clubs 😀

Well, "In a Dream" got a lot of airplay on "crossover" radio, but people in NYC who listened to "dance" radio knew Rockell for "I Fell In Love", which was a decent hit here too.

I went with Jossette. Alot of people say it sounds like she's whining. Well, I loved her vocals cause I felt like they added emotion to the track. It's like I actually believed her when she was singing.

I personally never heard of JOSSETTE, or her version of the song. Where can I hear it?
I voted for Rockell
