PartyMania III

yo anyone going to partymania? the lineup is ago, hard in tango, anaklien, gaf, and double u. i heard alot of people aren't gonna come, cuz of the line-up and they want more acts to come. i dunno. tony monaco said they might add some local acts, but whatever. i'm still coming for monaco and to support dance music yo. for real :walk
 
I won't be going, all those 103 shows are one in the same

from what i have heard, there isn't gonna be anymore euro freestyle invasion. but i don't think they're gonna take out partymania or summer rush. especially, summer rush. i talked to monaco about it, and im pretty sure summer rush is gonna stay. not sure about the other concerts though.
 
well i hope they wont take away party mania ... somewhere on tony monaco's radio site someone said its the last show.. but i think that person misread something... but ya line up looks alright

gaf is a italo artist, i think. he has the song "america". the only time i heard it was when monaco announced the line-up @ 1pm on Z103.5. i dunno, he's pretty good, i guess.
 
PartyMania 1 was Amazing I gotta admit...PartyMania 1 and Invasion 1 have to be the best of the 103 shows I've attended...over the past few years a lot has changed :crap

they are euro and freestyle artists. these are some of their songs, maybe you've heard of the song, but didnt know it was them.

I never listen to the radio anymore, so that's why I don't know any of these artists or songs. But thanks for trying to clarify.

chica & sonya - looks like double you is the "freestyle artist" cuz they had a song on FH4 (dance anymore) even tho i think that one was still just a euro song remixed into freestyle.
 
Hi Guys,

Double You is one of Brazil's biggest pop/dance mega stars and he is a veteran of eurodance. His biggest worldwide million+ selling Albums & singles include "double you", "Blue" (full lenght cd that I consider one of eurodance's best ever from the mid 90's), "please don't go", "Run to me", "Part time lover", "because I'm loving you", "heart of glass", "Dancing with an angel (featuring Italy's Alexia) that he did with r0byx as part of the eurodance lineup that also icluded Alexia and Ice MC. He is also the male vocal featured on Alexia's mid-90's mega hits "Me & You" and in the remixes of "Summer is Crazy". He also did vocals on Ice MC's "It's a rainy day" along with Alexia and on "Rythm is the night" remixes with Corona and Ice MC.

"Dance Anymore" is a genuine freestyle remix by MP4 team's Raphael Armenio in Sao Paulo (Spotlight/BMG Brazil) and was featured on Freestyle Heaven vol. 4 by SPG/Dep in Canada. You can hear double you himself whisper the word "freestyle" in two parts of the remixed track. Having said that, Double You is not a freestyle artist and his top 10 brazilian mega hit "Dance Anymore" was an r&b effort before being remixed in euro and freestyle formats.

It is unfortunate that this veteran of dance music is not known beyond parts of europe, brazil and Canada. Before ending the relationship with DWA Italy (former home of Alexia, Ice MC and Corona as well), he was robbed of major stardom potential in 1992 by the then Polygram group who decided to create KWS "please don't go" instead of marketing DWA's fully finished product that was ready to go and signed off by them for ditribution. As a result, "Please don't go" was a mega hit in Canada, Europe and Brazil because it had a head start over the major label competition fronted by the KWS product.

Double You has just recently ventured back into the dance music genre after a break doing r&b/soul. He is signed with five star records in Germany, a smaller outfit that is linked to freestyle/dance and pop producer Kalvin Madison (The officer, Five of ten, Sandro cappello, Free System, etc.). Ti Amo Records of Toronto licensed the canadian rights for "everything I do" but unfortunately, has not marketed it outside of Toronto as usual so poeople will always asked "double who"?

Ironically, Double You's "please don't go" and the current "everything I do" are considered CANCON. "please don't go" still gets played regular or CHR format stations nationwide includinge the JOe & BOB FM formats. It is still the only regular royalty money maker for Double You. His debut self titled cd release went gold in canada back in 1993 but his eurodance venture shines in subsequent european and brazilian releases including the full lenght release "blue" that featured vocals by both corona, Alexia and Ice MC.

P.S. The freestyle "dancing with an angel" remake by ceres features MC G Gabriel on the male vocals.
