Up All Night (Pajama Party album)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pajama Party is an American R&B/Dance/Pop female vocal trio from Brooklyn, New York.

This Latin/Italian female group was put together by Peggy Sendars, and originally made up of Daphne Rubin-Vega, Jennifer McQuilkin, & Suzi Ranta (with Jennifer on leads), when they first released their 1988 Dance smash "YO NO SE' ". Making them the first female act to originally release a hit Freestyle song titled entirely in Spanish. While working on their 2nd single, after numerous performances & appearances, including Dance Party USA, Jennifer & Suzi would be replaced by Lynn Critelli & Amanda Homi. Their 2nd single, "OVER & OVER"(originally performed by Brenda K. Starr), also became a major Dance hit in the clubs & radio. Soon, in 1989, they released their 1st full-length album "UP ALL NIGHT" on Atlantic Records. Around this time, Amanda was replaced by Club MTV dancer Marialisa Costanzo. The next single, 1990's "HIDE AND SEEK" (remixed by Robert Clivilles & David Cole of C+C Music Factory) became an instant hit, and also became their first music video. The debut album also contained the songs "LOVELIGHT" as well as the ballad "LIVING INSIDE YOUR LOVE".

With their singles hitting Billboards Hot 100, touring & sharing the stage with the likes of New Kids On The Block, George Lamond, Sweet Sensation, Brenda K. Starr, Linear, and Safire to name a few, the girls quickly became an international hit. In 1991, came the release of their 2nd album "CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT IT".(also on Atlantic). The 1st single was the radio-friendly "GOT MY EYE ON YOU". The albums title song would lean the girls more towrads R&B/Pop. By 1992, the group parted ways, but still continued to be involved in the entertainment industry. Daphne becoming a successful solo Dance music artist (now with her Rock band DRV), also an actress starring in movies "I Like It Like That", playing Robert DeNiro's love interest in "Flawless", as well as "Wild Things" with Neve Cambell, and Kevin Bacon. Also creating the leading role of 'Mimi' in the legendary Broadway musical "RENT". Jennifer & Suzi are still involved with music, Amanda & Marialisa also went on to do some acting appearing in films with Susan Sarandon and Stephen Dorff, and Lynn performing with various Rock bands in the New York area, being formerly engaged to Tico Torres of Bon Jovi, and later married and divorced Brett Saberhagen of The NY Mets (now with the Boston Red Sox).

In 2000, for a special celebration held in honor of Fever's Sal Abbatiello, a new version of Pajama Party graced the stage. Marialisa, along with new members Janine and Johanna (formerly Freestyle artist Lil' Johanna) took to performing some of the classics, as well as working on new material.
