okay, this is JUST my opinoin but I think these stars are not all that. like fame makes em seem wondeful and sexy etc...........

from music to movies to tv shows to fashion, that was a helluva time!
btw, love watching vh-1's "i love the 80s" series...brings back those memories...lol🙂
 
shygyrl the thing about these ppl is "connections" the reason why they became so big in their careers is bcuz they know someone in the business

i mean look at 50 cents he wouldnt be where he is today if it wasnt for the help of enimen cuz since enimen is helpin him with his album he knew(50 cents) that somewhere down the line he was gonna paid

as for jennifer aniston if she wouldnt be in the hit show friends what would she be doing now? i mean think about it, she probably do some movies that probably wouldnt make that much money in the box office

and justin timberlake although he got his break by being in the group nsync even without them he still got skills to do his own thing cuz i cant hate the blankito can sing u know?

and for the american idol......well i think someone is payin someone off to get their son or daughter in the business
 
I have to disagree with u about some people from American Idol. I truly think that Ruben Studdard and Clay Aiken are wonderful performers, and both of them seem very down-to-earth. I hope they stay that way. I do think Justin Guarini is a little over-rated. He was my fave last year, but I guess that just proves that the talent wasnt too good. I dont care for his singing anymore, and I didnt even buy his album. Over-rated to me is Brittney Spears. I never could see what the big deal was about her. I dont even think she has a good voice. I also feel that way about Brad Pitt. He just doesnt do anything for me, and I dont think he is a great actor. When it comes down to it, there are A LOT of over-rated people out there who are making wayyyy too much money...much more than they deserve.

About 98% of those considered "stars" are over rated...
 
wayne newton now there's a guy who earned his stardom,he even has a street in vegas named after him. as for overrated edward norton ohhh who am I kidding I just said that because he had salma hayek.
 
dose it have to be music stars? if not i say kobe is over rated im sure if he played for any other team he would not been know like he is he is getting help were he is now from shaq etc
 
Funny I think Madonna is one that deserves the title...she's been around for 20 yrs shes remained successful during those 20yrs and has done more than just music thats why I think she's worthy of being called a star...but hey thats just my opinion
 
she does have all the fame, however i dont think that her music is that great...especially the music within the last few years...her early work was great...but i think she has faded

american idol, as well... clay and kelly and ruben allllllll can sing better than the 95% of the singers out there...

now 50cent, lil bow wow, lil romeo, ashanti, nick carter, mandy moore as a singer, most of the boy bands, etc. to me these are way too over rated
 
I agree with u Gina..most of today's stars are over-rated. Noone can compare to the legends like Lucille Ball, Jackie Gleason, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, etc.
